Good idea, but I think it is not clear without both frames and the subtitle: [1]◊

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. The second panel should do, I think. The joke may be diminished by missing the first part, but the trope is illustrated, and that's what counts.
The page description is quite short, and using just one half works, so I'm happy with either part.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.I don't think parodies tend to make good page images.
What about not a literal island, like the Twenty Eight Days Later HELLO sign?

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Well, that one is already on Hello.
I like the two part Bender one. It's the first thing that came to mind before I even entered the thread.
That is not a trope. Remove from that page if added to this one, IMO:
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.
Not really an island. Or a help message.
Rhymes with "Protracted."The Mythbusters did this fairly recently...a good pic of that should be sufficient.
^^ It is both, though maybe doesn't look that way.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. To me, it looks like a countryside field where someone's written "Hello". Maybe it's a celebratory thing — my school did something similar for its 450th aniversary — or something else for fun, but it doesn't seem to be a cry for help. Therefore, I prefer the Futurama parody.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Yeah "doesn't look that way" is a pretty serious criticism. Just don't like the Futurama one either, and I love that show. Other options?
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Still voting for Futurama.
Here's◊ the Mythbusters one.
That's decent as well.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Liking the pic at 14.
If a chicken crosses the road and nobody else is around to see it, does the road move beneath the chicken instead?Ok, yeah that one is pretty good. Seein Adam and Jamie standing in front of it tells you that they are proud to show off that it can be done.
Is Adam wearing a top hat?
Well, I like the Mythbusters pic.
Rhymes with "Protracted."What is their message made of, duct tape?
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. It can be used for anything! And it's really not the typical material for that... Still does a very good image of showing off the trope.
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.Yup.
No, it's like one of those floppy bush hats, but made out of duct tape.
Yes. The actual myth itself was to prove that Duct Tape can be used for survival situations.
They made the SOS sign out of duct tape. They created a water trap out of duct tape. They fashioned hammocks out of duct tape, they created comfortable sandals and sun-protecting hats out of duct tape. They fashioned animal traps out of duct tape. They created a working boat and oars entirely out of duct tape with no structural backing by wood or metal.
It. All. Worked.

They did use bamboos though. And the sign itself have sticks and stones to hold it.
If a chicken crosses the road and nobody else is around to see it, does the road move beneath the chicken instead?Oh right, I thought I was missing a detail. My mistake.
Anyway, the picture looks pretty good at wiki size. You can still make out that it's Adam and Jamie too.
Single-panel Far Side image needs to go.
Pity I'm not still down in Brighton, or I might be able to make an image. As it is, the first ones that I get on a GIS are copyrighted stock photos. Cruising through the examples might lend something, though I'm having trouble picking the right search terms. Does anyone know where the example from ''Futurama can be found, as it looks promising if there's a larger version.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.
