Edward Sinclair, born Edward Sinclair Perry, (3 February 1914 — 29 August 1977), was a British actor best known for playing the Verger in Dad's Army.

He appeared in the films The Bells, Tower of Terror, and Saraband before moving into a career in radio. In The '60s, he was noticed thanks to his radio work and began playing small parts on the TV, including guest shots in Danger Man, Beggar My Neighbour, Hugh and I Spy, and Z Cars.

He played the Verger in one episode of Dad's Army's first series and returned for another episode in the second. From the third series onwards, Sinclair's role was expanded, when Frank Williams joined the cast as his boss, The Vicar.

During his DA stint, Sinclair returned for The Movie, Dad's Army (1971), and appeared in other films such as The Magic Christian and No Sex Please - We're British. When DA ended, Sinclair was offered work in panto.

He died shortly after of a heart attack at the age of 63.
