But what I refuse to accept is deaths used for dumb shock value.

My thoughts on the solicits:

The best line from Ant-Man Last Days solicit: "Everything dies? Pfft. Everything DANCES." Hell yeah.

Another guest artist for Silk #7. Some Googling suggests Tana Ford is pretty good, though.

Ms. Marvel has an adorable cover, and it makes me wonder if the story inside is going to be weirdly fun for an end-of-the-world tale. (Also, the cover has Ms. Marvel being admired by Captain Marvel, Captain Falcon, Lady Thor, Hulk and . . . Kate Bishop! Kamala knows who the best Hawkeye is.)

The Loki solicit is rather ominous: "THAT'S ALL, FOLKS!" Is the series over with?

Secret Love looks like it'll be so much fun.

Runaways #3: Molly gets a cowboy hat. That's probably all they really needed to say to get people on board with that issue.

Siege #3: "Everyone's going to die. It's awesome." I love the solicits for Kieron Gillen's books. They're always funny.

Hank Johnson: Agent of Hydra looks like it'll be great. The everyday life of a Hydra agent? What's not to love about that?

X-Men '92 introduces X-Force '92: Cable, Domino, Deadpool, Psylocke, Archangel, Bishop. Kind of a cool line-up.

Squirrel Girl has awesome solicits. "Loki’s a huge character! He’s been in THREE different movies so far. Three! • He’s only in our comic for a couple of pages though • Oh! This book also features FRIENDSHIP and SASS and PUNCHES!!"

18 titles. Secret Wars certainly isn't cutting down my pull list at all.

Kind of spoiling which Loki will survive in that Thors cover, Marvel.

Wonder why they didn't just use Bob.

I'm not sure Bob is exactly an 'everyday' HYDRA agent. He's more a parody of what people think everyday HYDRA agents are.

Yeah, there could be multiple Lokis running around Battleworld for all we know.

Because we actually know Bob. We don't know Hank Johnson. Hank does have some differences from Bob. A wife and kids, primarily. Also, if the writer used Bob, he would've been required to use Deadpool, and he may have felt throwing Deadpool into the story would've detracted from what he was going for.

It's fun to laugh at HYDRA but a group like that would be downright terrifying in real life.

So they tell me that Chick Thor is actually Jane Foster. Have they yet explained how this person was able to reach, survive without a spacesuit, and speak audibly on, the moon?

Ah yes, the answer is SHUT UP! I TRICKED YOU! YOU ALL THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BE ROZ! I'M SO MUCH SMARTER THAN YOU!

I haven't read the issue, but it was the Blue Area of the Moon maybe?

There's air on the moon now. Well, there always has been.

Because Kree.

Fuck the Kree.

But also because Asgard is hanging around on the Moon so Osborn can't invade it again. And Jane Foster is living in Asgard these days.

And as people who were more observant than me pointed out while Roz was set up as a pretty thorough red herring, several clues that it wasn't her were also set up.

Actually you know which Moon has more air than the one in Marvel? The one in Power Rangers.

Look, the very first shot of the very first issue of the new Thor was of Asgard floating over the Blue Area of the Moon.

Mjolnir called to Jane Foster and Jane climbed down and picked it up. That's how it happened.

Have they explained yet why Thor wasn't worthy anymore?

Fury whispered some words to him.

I think we still don't know which words.

He then became worthy in the last minute of his life right before he fought infinity Beyonders

Yeah, I know something was whispered to him.

I was talking about something more definitive than "ambiguous reason we don't have to think about too hard because we really want to make Thor a woman for reasons".

Fury whispered "Chris Hemsworth is more popular than you." in his ear.

I'm sure it will be a big thing later on.

But will it be "Bucky isn't actually dead he's really a brainwashed Russian Assassin and I put a lot of thought into this" big or "Bendis does a bad job trying to explain why Star Lord and Thanos are still alive but Nova's not because he got tired of people demanding an explanation for that BS" big?
