As a Canadian, I'd probably be better off on DC Earth, because Marvel Canada is evil. We've got a government that experiments on people, and cannibalism is apparently common enough to warrant a curse to knock that shit off.

d rather live in dc earth because i would be grateful like they deserve. and also the heroes are more spread out than 1 trillion in nyc, and like 4 in california on the other hand since I live in Ohio and nothing happens in Ohio in Marvel I might be safer there.

I have no idea why Marvel Canada is so damn evil, but the best guess I have is that in the early days Marvel was reluctant to show the US Government as an antagonist so all the "government does shady stuff" stories were pawned off on its nearest neighbor.

One of the writers had a bad experience with maple syrup at a hockey game and never forgave. Everyone since has just been following that lead.

I suspect the real reason is because Wolverine was already established as Canadian. He had the whole mysterious background going on, and as more details were added, more of those details were fucked up. And then those little things kept getting fleshed out.

[up][up][up]That was my impression as well. There are other examples of Canada being evil that are unrelated to the Weapon X program? I honestly have no idea.

There will apparently be another teen/young Avengers/heroes book soon, though it won't quite be Young Avengers or Avengers Academy.

[up]On the one hand, I'm glad that Marvel's attempting to give a teen-team book another chance.

On the other hand, I'm somewhat confident that it won't last 20+ issues or, alternatively, into a second volume. (Considering that a series can't seem to go 12-30 issues these days without getting relaunched.)

Could I choose to live in a version of DC!Earth or Marvel!Earth?

Because I'm pretty sure that living on Marvel Adventures!Earth (the classic version at least) or L'il Gotham/Batman '66!Earth wouldn't be bad at all.

[up]Batman 66'? Are you kidding? If I were a minority, I'd likely be reduced to an ethnic sterotype, and even if not, I'd still be behaving in a manner that would make William Shatner's performances look under-acted, and I'd likely have a saccharine personality that the real me would want to stab in the face.

Lord Of Lore's short reviews on the comics he has read since restarting reading comics(in no order at all)!

Guardians of The Galaxy and The Thanos Imperiative(Dn A): (4,5/5) This was an awesome run. It was funny, cute, epic, interesting and had great characters. Quite sad that the movie had next to none of the things that made the comic great. They dialed down almost all weird things and cut most of the great characters. I have almost no interest in reading an Earth focused run of the comic so I´m skipping Bendis run. Was it just me or did Phyla get a bit derailed after saving Heather? Top Five Characters is Phyla, Mantis, Moondragon, Drax(man his movie counterpart sucked) and Peter(I liked the fact that he was pretty much the sanest person on the team and way more mature than the movie version).

Annihilation: (4/5) Introduced me to all the cosmic heroes and villains. I ended up quite enjoying Nova with Drax and Peter as his teachers of war, Ronan vs Gamora was quite good. Didn´t really care that much for Silver Surfer. Super-Skrull was interesting since I had never read a comic with him before. The final battle was nice.

Conquest: (4/5) Nova was good, Wraith was interesting but I couldn´t find myself to care for the character(has he even showed up in anything after?), Star-Lord was awesome and I´m happy it lead to Got G. Quasar was amazing! Ultron as the villain was interesting since he shows exactly how powerful tech villains can be if given the means.

Dark Avengers: (3/5) I actually ended up liking this run. This version of Sentry is probably my favorite since he is treated the way he should: as a WMD with a short timer. Could have used a few more female villains/heroes on the team. Norman trying to be heroic was strange as was him being naked. Victoria Hand was probably the best part.

Siege: (3,5/5) Just enough plot to balance the action. Was it just me or did Sentry slim down?

The Mighty Avengers: (3,5/5) Man, the first six issues were great. Really didn´t care for Iron Man or Wonder Man. Janet and Carol are always great. Didn't finish it.

The New Avengers: (2,5/5) Luke Cage and Spider-Man! The Sentry arc was pretty awful. Didn´t finish it.

Civil War: (2/5) Badly planned and plotted. Could have been great if it was better written.

JMS Spider-Man: (4,75/5) My childhood! You know, Morlun is crazy OP versus totemic heroes(when I was a kid I just thought he was Hulk strong) but the fact that Peter actually wins his first fight with him using science is really great. I actually liked that pretty much no "classic" villains showed up(aside from Otto and that was more of a villain vs villain story. And Kingpin but he is more of a Daredevil villain). Peter as a teacher is nice. Back in Black is great because even though he has all the reasons for killing people he still doesn't. The Loki arc is still funny(Peter hasn't used his favor yet, right?). The fact that it all ends with OMD is still really bad. The arc where Gwen's kids showed up was pretty bad but could probably have been saved if Peter said they weren't his in the first issue and MJ didn't know they were Normans.

Infinity: (1/5) Almost everything in space was bad(aside from the Carol stuff and her tie in) but Thanos is still one of the best villains ever. Awful event aside from him and his team.

Captain Marvel: (S1 4,5/5) Thus far I kind of like season 1 more than 2. Carol is awesome. ONGOING

Miss Marvel: (4,5/5) Really great! ONGOING

Avengers Assemble: (3,5/5) Only read the Science Bros volume but it was kind of great?

Hawkeye: (4,5/5) I love both Clint and Kate! ONGOING

Journey into Mystery: (5/5) Kid!Loki, Leah, Mephisto, Hela and pretty much the entire cast is A+! Everything Burns is a great final arc. (I kind of spit out a glass of water when Loki called Leah his "BFF")

Young Avengers: (4/5) Liked pretty much the entire cast aside from Noh-Varr. Hulkling could have used a issue were he din't worry about his boyfriend. This moment was great.

Loki Agent of Asgard: (4,5/5) Funny and interesting. I look forward to more issues! ONGOING

Loki/Thor Original Sin: (4/5) Loki getting the chance to act evil is great. Thor works great as the straight man to Loki. Angela got better clothes! I have no idea how Thor is going to lose his powers from anything else than helping open up the Tenth Realm. ONGOING

New X-Men(2001): (4/5) Probably my favorite X-Men run yet.

Still have to read Storm(already downloaded the two issues that are already out on the digital store). I will probably pick up Angela: Asgard's Assassin.

Any suggestions on new, old or ongoing stories I should read? I have pretty much 140 USD set aside for comics for this year and the next. Any good X-Men stories with Kitty or Magik?
