Is anyone else following Plus-Si? I have to say that I'm impressed with it. It doesn't look like much at first, but it's just so annoyingly competent that it manages to overcome its generic fantasy setting.

It's also the gayest thing this side of a rainbow speedo (despite being a Josei[!] manga), but I find it so damned hilarious that it just adds to the appeal.

...How does being josei make the homoeroticism weird?

Atypical, at least. It's the way that its played that makes it seem weird; I'm never sure whether it's tongue-in-cheek or a legitimate ploy to pick up a Yaoi Fangirl Periphery Demographic. Then again, who's to say that it can't be both?

Why would josei and homoeroticism be mutually exclusive? It's pretty established that yaoi is made for females. Don't get your logic.

Plus-Si is an incredibly competent piece of storytelling. It seems so generic and cookie-cutter, but the execution really makes a lot of difference. I should probably pick it up again - dropped it couple years ago because the scans were going waaay too slow.
