Or it could have a really long cooldown.

What the sh't what the sh't what the sh't.
Must watch videos now but can't because at school computer darn it darn it darn it.
Alright watched part of the first one. If this leads to Superman regaining his virtuousness, or at least into Teeth-Clenched Teamwork with Batman... man that wouldn't even work. Superman would send Bruce into orbit the first chance he gets.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I miss mainstream Superman.
I don't. Evil Superman is the tits.
I really want them to stay in the Regime universe. There's so much more tension when there's no get-out-of-jail free card with a superior, good guy Justice League around. Plus this is a Netherrealm game, so having a darker tone makes sense.
Harley relapsing, Wonder Woman and Superman being free, factions imploding in on each other, Supergirl caught between doing what's right and standing by her crazed cousin - all of these things are kind of neat. The first injustice was just an edgier version of the Justice League's Justice Lords story arc.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!So out of curiosity...
How much longer until you guys think we'll hear more about any Guest Fighters (Spawn, Hellboy, etc.)?
3rd or 4th DLC character is most likely going to be Sub-Zero to tie into the 25th anniversary of MK. First 3 regular DC characters will probably be Red Hood, Black Manta and Starfire.
I miss good Superman as well, but for Injustice to have its own identity it's probably for the better we stay in its own universe story-wise. The Prime universe did their part in easing us into the Injustice universe, and now that they've done that they don't have a reason to come back.
For what it's worth, Regime Superman somehow sounds more Superman-y this time around. Probably because he's snider and not trying to remind you he rules Earth every other breath?
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaSo, this is a prequel?
The comic book is a prequel.
Injustice 2 takes place immediately after Injustice based on an interview with the writer of the Comic.
Maybe the comic for Injustice 2 which is a prequel to Injustice 2 takes place immediately after the first Injustice game.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre Adventurejumping in
The bigger question, I believe, is whether or not Injustice needs its own identity at all. Not saying what NRS has done with Injustice is bad (it's actually been really good), just that NRS could probably do gangbusters just making and supporting a regular DC fighting game. Not like anyone else could possibly compete.

Well you need a reason for everyone to beat each other up.
Marvel vs Capcom begs to differ.
Even Infinite is borrowing the Netherrealm approach according to all the press release.
Besides, they have a story, so the story needs to determine a why.
We've got enough generic fighting games that lack any attempt at story.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I'm just tired of edgy "evil superman" stories. There have been so many, and it conflicts with his actual characterization so much that it's not entertaining, or even shocking at this point. And beyond that, the number of heroes who turned into fascist dictators at the drop of a hat? Wonder Woman, the champion of peace and love on earth, willingly helping take over the world? Same for Hawkgirl, Hal Jordan, and so many others?
I'll fully admit I only play Injustice for the multiplayer. The story isn't anywhere near the quality of NRS' other projects, or the actual DC comics. It's all bizarrely out of character, and could have been much better.
...You did read the comics that showed how those characters joined the Regime, right?
Yes, and I still consider it incredibly poorly written.
...yeah, if they wanted they probably could have a more lighthearted galaxy romp of a fighting game. The first game even had clash dialogue for the Prime characters fighting- why are Flash and Superman fighting? Turns out it's just a friendly throwdown, is all.
Granted, I'm not sure how long Netherrealm could go with a "lighthearted" game without feeling the need to kill someone.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaSo who is Superman fighting in the Superman vs. Superman clashes?
Superboy Prime?
From what I remember from the comics:
Wonder Woman just wanted the D, so, yeah, good job on that writers. But then we also see in Flashpoint just how easily Wonder Woman can turn from the noble path - you call her "champion of love and peace" but really she comes from a sexist warrior culture; if not for her initial voyage away from that society she'd probably be queen/just as secular as the rest. Granted, the comic has this contrived moment where Diana stands with Superman against her own gods so I'd still call this bad writing.
Hal Jordan immediately has beef with Superman in the comics - he only gives in because Superman pretty much bends the Lantern Corp over his knee, IIRC.
Aquaman resists outright - Superman lifts Atlantis out of the ocean so Arthur shuts up.
Hawkgirl? I don't really know what her characterization is outside of Justice League, but hasn't she always been the Blood Knight of the group, the one who came from a planet of aliens who wanted to enforce law and order? Superman's initial actions were to just "end" all conflict on Earth; I could see Hawkgirl going along with that.
I don't know why any of them stuck around after Green Arrow was murdered, but we saw Flash leave when Clark murdered Captain Marvel.
Anyway, the only Evil Superman stories I know of are Red Son and Irredeemable. So I guess the concept hasn't bored me yet.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I think the first game only gave most mirror matches dialogue for if it was Prime VS Injustice matches, and that includes Superman.
That said, I doubt it'd be too hard to write intro/clash dialogue to make the match premises really silly. Like, have Flash mumbling to himself about how he's fighting his own afterimage or something.

It would be if it lasted for more than a couple seconds. Remember that Aquaman's character power for the first game would be CRAZY broken, but it only lasts about one second.
