OK, so we have... a picture of a kid. While that kid is an example, it doesn't assist in the slightest with showing the trope, and you can't even tell she's an example until you click on the link and reach the page for the work, seeing her older self as part of the work's page image.

There's something to be said about cases of JAFAAC where even someone who knows that character can't recognize the image without watching the show.
Welcome, traveller, welcome to Omsk
Would it be an improvement to pair it with a picture of Korra as a teenager?

Keep Until Better Image Suggested. It would be good if paired with another image of her older.

+1 to pairing the current with a pic of her, older.

I agree. And, if possible, I'd suggest that the older picture have her in a similar pose, for maximum effect.

It's sorta fan myopic, I guess, but I still got it without seeing the show, and it helped me understand the trope. I don't think it needs a second panel. I'd go as far as too say a second panel might detract from the image, although the "similar pose" idea sounds pretty good.

I support an older image paired with it. But keep it until a better image comes up. Too many times images are removed and then nobody can agree on a replacement.

Yeah add an image of the older version, and make the caption allude to this.
I agree that there should be a before and after.
I think an image could say "this is an introduction" without having more than one frame. Possible objections (e.g. "how do we know the whole show isn't about a kid?") could be twisted into something similar that applies to a before/after sequence also.

Sometimes multi-frame images make sense (are good, even) for some reason, but I think they should be avoided if at all possible. Looks really cheap IMO. Especially a before/after to depict "this thing is different than before", that is a red flag that it might be superfluous. A caption can do exactly the same work without taking up a huge amount of page real estate and looking lame.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel.
Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.

Proposed caption, although I wonder if leers too far into JAFAAC territory.

Our first look at Korra, before the series gets rolling. She's the Avatar. You gotta deal with it.

Could be better, but it is an improvement on the current. (Which is the same image with no caption.)

(The collage thing might be okay too but can't tell, nobody has made one...)

Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.

How's this for the "older" pic?
How do we know that's the same character? The caption? :D

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel.
Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.
I'd say that's a decent "after" pic.

They're similar enough that you can deduce it's an older version of the character, but I guess we could put something in the caption. I like it.
Caption thing was a joke. Works fine without. Those two images are very complementary.

Can you make them closer to equal size? The young version is kind of out of focus. However, it's just blank around her. :S

[up] Agreed.

How's this? It's just the suggested comparison beneath the current. There may be quality loss; Intaglio was acting up (which isn't uncommon, but oh well). No idea where the line at the top came from.

[up] Works for me.
Oh you meant the frames a similar size. Was intentionally 1/3 2/3 to try to communicate intro/main, but whatever.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel.
Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.
[up][up][up] That looks good to me.
As much as I love Korra, I think this would work better [1]
