Wait, isn't that the project that the Terraria team moved onto?
EDIT: Oh wait, it isn't.
Unfortunately the pledging doesn't look too good. There's only a few days left before the deadline, and they've still got a lot of cash to go before it's greenlighted. Looks like this project might not make it.

Yeah, its different than Starbound.
But yeah, it could still make it since last few days usually get increase in pledging. Still would be good if people would take notice in it since it looks awesome.
Available in Desura's Alpha Fund.
The artstyle's different, but it still strongly reminds me of Starbound. The mechanics and gameplay of it seem to be similar too, with the big difference here being the emphasis on the combat.
It's gonna have to be more enticing to make me want to pick it up instead of Starbound, however. The devs already have a damn good pedigree with their background in designing Terraria, but I don't know squat about the team behind Edge of Space.
Did they got enough to be Kickstarted?
They got $35,495 of $25,000 goal
Hmm, I got this now and its rather... Early version. Aka, there is barely anything to do and barely any animations xD There is log on how many percents each thing is finished.
Ouch. But then again, that's an early Alpha for you. So what is complete in the game so far, and what have you been able to try out?

Well, there are several creatures, world gen is apparently 85% complete(can't remember other percents), there are few items for you to use but you can't really build or craft anything yet and you need two game open at same time to play singleplayer aka have other one to be server while other one joins to localhost. Its basically alpha though its called beta on Desura.
Really, I think Indie game developers are confused about alpha/beta these days xD Then again, different devs use different definitions, noticed that on Xenonauts forums.
Basically, I think there are less stuff available than in that Desura video so either I have to look harder or thats what is going to be in future patches.*shrugs* I didn't really look hard, just checked it out and spawned several monsters from server and tried every starting thing.
I played it at PAX East. It was pretty involved.

Jonah FalconIt's green lit now and received a huge patch yesterday that improved pretty much everything again and improved coding etc, it pretty much runs on a toaster with a monitor and keyboard now XD
So this game has come a ways from it's first intro. Gameplay and content have added and tweaked on a fairly regular basis.
There was an article recently about it being considered a Terraria clone and apparently the creator talked with Redigit to keep things original and unique enough. While both games are going to be doign crossover content in the near future.
Who watches the watchmen?Yeah, word is Skeletron is going to appear as a bonus boss somewhere in the game.
Indeed. And a Gun themed on content from Edge of Space will appear in Terraria in the later update.
Who watches the watchmen?Picked up this game off of steam. I like the look of it in general. It is a bit more challenging then games like Terraria. But I am enjoying the basic exploration and gathering.
The Power system is simple yet can allow more complex set ups. Pack a generator and a turret and you can drop em at night and watch it zap your enemies.
I hate the damn blood jellies. Nasty buggers. Until you get the health regen kit expect to die a lot.
Who watches the watchmen?Do they allow as much artistic creativity when designing your base as in Terraria? Or is it more focused on the exploration and combat?
You can refine a number of blocks from raw into processed. You can usually place both.
Who watches the watchmen?
So yeah, nuff said.
