The fandom for this show is stupid.
I checked the subreddit a while back and it was mostly people talking about how much they hated the end of Season 2.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?i haven't been spoiled yet so shh
hm. the silly episode with the prez and the time travel episode were of much lower quality than the other episodes. sounds about right from what i remember.
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeHey, those were good ones!
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?nah they were pretty meh. they lacked the same air of mystery that the previous episodes had, as well as being a lot less intelligent on how they handled their respective mysteries.
it's also weird looking back at Wendy
because like
i was 15 when this show first came out and thought "huh, she's my age"
now I'm watching it and I'm like "jfc she's so young"
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeQuentin motherfucking Trembley froze himself in peanut brittle, your argument is as invalid as your face, Roderick.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Less intelligent = More obvious...
I'm not quite sure the Time Travelling episode was meant to have a real mystery, that was just not the focus.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Blendin's episode was a lot better in hindsight. At least for me.
This song needs more love.Time Travel stuff in shows always bothers me when it isn't the main focus and isn't handled with the utmost intelligence and consistency.
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeThat's because Homestuck spoiled you, boi
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? That episode had the most bare basic of time travel... worked well enough.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.EXCEPT IT DOESN'T BECAUSE RETCONS DON'T MAKE SENSE AFTER ACT 7 AND INTERNAL CONSISTENCY SLOWLY BREAKS DOWN FROM THE INSTANT THAT DREAM BUBBLES COVER THE MULTIVERSE AND ALL CHOICES AND
now's not the time for that rant...
eh. it wasn't like plot holes galore or anything, it's just my personal distaste for time travel stuff and the fact that i found the episode only okay as a whole anyway.

"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeTime travel in fiction never makes sense for two reasons:
Time travel isn't real and has no real world occurrences to compare it to
Writers aren't quantum physicists
Boi, take that Homestuck trash outta here before I bring in the Huss.

Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? But at least writers bind themselves to rules if time travel is a major thing in their series...and that's good enough.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.I'm not a quantum physicist either yet i definitely understand temporal mechanics and the various interpretations of time travel and each model's inherent flaws.
I'm not gonna excuse a work from having shitty time travel just because it's difficult to get a grasp on.
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeThen you must hate Back to the Future.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? The best uses of time travel I've seen have been Chrono Trigger and Dragon Ball Z. Homestuck can't keep its own rules straight at times.
This song needs more love.I honestly think you're setting your standards a bit too high here. They did it because they thought it'd make a good story - this ain't exactly hard SF here.
Oh God! Natural light!eh. not really- it redeems itself by being a classic 80s movie.
Chrono Trigger? Yes! DBZ?... ehhh. I don't quite like how they handled Trunks going back to the future but it's not that big of a deal.
I mean i really don't care all of that much. I'm just explaining part of my issue with the episode.
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeGargoyles had my favorite take on time travel, which is that time never really changes and when characters affect the past, it was because they were always meant to do so in the first place. The fun is seeing HOW that happens.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Basically at the end of the day you got two broad categories of time travel; Can Change Shit or Can't Change Shit. Can't Change Shit it easy, if deeply unsettling and nihilistic. Can Change Shit is where you start running into problems with causality and the like.

Despite my screen-name, ranting to you about One Piece is not my top priority.Weird, that plot type is usually people's most common complaint in a time travel story...because it actually makes the least sense.

YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.How so? It's a doozy to process right after a reveal is made, but it's pretty straightforward once you figure out the sequence of events, especially due to there being only one path. Malleable time introduces way more variables and changes, with some cancelling out others.
That's not to say that one approach is better than the other. But one of them tends to get messier than the other.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).People tend to find that specific one the most confusing, because the concept is paradoxical...and it's often not explained very well.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.I think Magic Time Travel is more likely to be accepted than Scientific Time Travel because "It's magic, I ain't gotta explain shit"
Alternatively, just have parallel timelines like Dragon Ball Z
dont tell that to the fandom
