Alex is right about this matter of opinions. Rowlet is clearly the superior Pokemon, even if its weird leaf bowtie looks like it's wearing a strapless bra.
Now to see what they look like fully evolved.

Rowlet is great. The firekitty looks pretty cool too. Can't say I'm an enormous fan of the water type, mainly because the giant nose makes it look a bit too much like a clown.

So, if I had to hazard a guess, Rowlet is obviously Grass/Flying, Litten might be Fire/Dark, and the porpoise whose name slips my mind is either pure Water or Water/Ice?
Litten's design is fantastic, but she and Porpoisemon feel a bit redundant.
I want them to have a subtyped Elemental Rock-Paper-Scissors triangle in the Starters that runs the opposite direction to the main one sometime. Like,
- Fire/Flying
- Water/Fighting
- Grass/Rock

Dipper would likely choose Owlett, Mabel would probably get Popplio, and I'm guessing Pacifica would get Litten. Either her or Lazy Susan
