What needs to be done? Cutting out wicks altogether? Moving them to another trope? Some combination of the both?

The wicks should be changed to one of the tropes that Heroic Sociopath was split into: Heroic Comedic Sociopath and Sociopathic Hero. Both are when a sociopathic character is fighting for a good cause; the former is when it's Played for Laughs, the latter when it's Played for Drama.
Anything that's completely incorrect should just be deleted, of course.
