Poor Image: Parallel Porn Titles

I know this is going to be hard to illustrate properly and have a safe for work picture, but the current picture isn't really a porn title. It doesn't riff on the film title as much as be slightly similar. That fits The Mockbuster better.

Now that might be enough to count for this trope. But are there better pictures we could use?

It was surprisingly hard to find pictures many of the porn titles I searched for... Even if The Internet Is for Porn, they're not very well known. If you want safe pictures? A little harder...

The poster image for Flesh Gordon on imdb is actually pretty tame. Main character is covered neck to toes and there's a girl wearing a pretty standard "sci-fi damsel in distress" bikini.

I like the poster for Flesh Gordon — perhaps contrast with this Flash Gordon poster?

Looks fine as-is. Vertical would be way too tall.

Why does that matter? I can't read the black text above and to the sides of his head, either. Or the text at the bottom. I can kind of make out "volume one" on the left. None of that is important. The only text that is relevant is the title. The other text doesn't need to be readable. If anything it should be less legible, so you don't even try. (But fine as-is, I don't actually mean that change should be made.)

v I am just pushing back, no need to feel put on the spot :) I absolutely don't mean "the suggestion is bad and you should feel bad!" at all. Sorry if I come off that way.

I'm just offering a suggestion, and now I feel like you're putting me on the spot.

Maybe it doesn't need to be done this way, but I feel it's a bit small and difficult to read.

I'm going to have to agree with Rodney, though. Vertically aligning them would be excessive, and all that small text is beside the point, which is the similarity of the titles of the work.

The posted image is great.

We need a comparison shot for this? We can't just use the Flesh Gordon poster and link to Flash Gordon or reference it in the caption?

It should be a comparison, or else the page image will only be a porno poster, which doesn't fully demostrate the point of the trope.

EDIT: Here◊ we have a clearer Flesh Gordon side. Like someone mentioned, the captions don't really matter.

Are we allowed to change the image now or do we need a crowner? If a crowner is needed, then how does that work? (I don't have a ton of experience with this type of stuff yet.)

Agreed. This is much better and clearer.

I don't think we really need one in this case, but see How Crowners Work since the information is useful.
