So this thread's been dead for a while (and it didn't even occur to me to look for it until now) but I just watched the first episode of season 3 and it was possibly the best episode yet. I'm definitely going to be following this season through.

Morsi lost his stolen power in Egypt to another group of illegitimate rules - the military.
Episode 1 hinted at the whole Snowden situation, which began in 2013.
The current crisis in Ukraine began as a series of protests when their President backed off of a deal with the EU so that Russia could keep control over Ukraine.
Assad's forces used (probably) Sarin against the opposition (SNC) in Syria.
Quite many of these stories are still unfolding...

This has been the best season so far. It looks like it'll end on a downer, though.

And it ended with a standard Sorkin happy ending. This was a good show, but not a great one. Sorkin is right in his comment that he's done four TV shows and only one of them (The West Wing) was a hit.

Yeah. The first couple of episodes in season 3 were as good as it gets with this show but the last 2 episodes were not as good, and many of the plotlines seemed to just simmer off.
