You don't misremember. However, pools don't have ads, so we had considered that links to them may be okay.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerAh, that was it.
Personally I don't see it necessary to remove links to non-porny Danbooru content, whether or not we want to have a page on them. I doubt any of the rest of the mods care on that issue either.
A brighter future for a darker age.Linking to Danbooru images was the thing that wasn't allowed, as those (as well as image searches) had the NSFW ads. The pools don't.
- Danbooru is not primarily a porn site.
- It's even less of a pedo-pandering site.
- We don't link to any parts containing porn, including ads.
That does not explain why there is a great deal of porn and pedo-pandering content in it.
I dunno. Maybe about the legality issues?
Also, what to do with Ponibooru. I know it was already decided by the 5P to be cleaned and kept but, the issue was brought up again by Shortcake/The Cat\'s Pajamas.

Always looking for a good MMORPG with a great community...Shortcake, what IS the issue with Ponibooru? Please explain.
A brighter future for a darker age.If the Ponybooru issue was solved, it's solved, and there is no need to reopen it. Or do you mean Danbooru?
Apparently underage sexualized ponies.

From what she (The Cat\'s Pajamas) has already said in "Ask the Tropers":
"Also, we might as well get rid of Ponibooru - the standards seem to have relaxed to the point where explicit content involving prepubescent cartoon horses can be viewed without any restrictions."
"I think the addition of ambiguous bestiality would make the pedophiliac content on Ponibooru worse, but if that's not ground for deletion, there's also sexual humanised images of said prepubescent horses. (I haven't actually been on the site in a long while, so I'm going off of the trope page here."

Always looking for a good MMORPG with a great community...If the article is to be believed, that is the issue with Ponibooru.

@2006: That can be explained by Danbooru being much like other imageboards in regards to censorship, to put it bluntly. The main rule (other than lolicon and shotacon content being paywalled and images being rated Safe, Questionable or Explicit) seems to be "no real-life porn." They're also stricter in regards to guro stuff (which Gelbooru isn't), and they're not much fans of furry or non-Japanese stuff.

Hmm... Underaged ponies? The only ponies I can think of that are underaged are: the CMC, and all the other colts and fillies.
Always looking for a good MMORPG with a great community...17 images out of ~170K, which also include ones like this one, i.e. nonsexual. So?
And I doubt our pedo policy covers actual drawn ponies.

Honestly, Ponibooru and the like should probably be erased more because they're neither tropes nor works than for anything else.
But, A.) that wouldn't fall under P5 and B.) That'd be an explicit change in the mission statement for the wiki. Meh.
I agree with the person who said just have a page for all image boards and warn that whatever damn fool images you look at after exiting tvtropes is your own darn fault
And indeed, we do have an Imageboards page, though it mainly covers the *.chan imageboards, and not the boorus.
Come to think of it, I think some links in that page need to get cut, especially in the case of some of the nastier boards such as Gurochan.

Morven: Well, if we have a page on internet trolls and image boards why not for image repositories? So long as they're all in a single article we don't really need more than that, though.
Shortcake, do me a favour and read the guidelines before going into crusades. Our guidelines explicitly state "Don't submit a work just because of the word lolicon on the page."
How much clearer can we make that, really? We could axe all booru pages for all I care, but at least give the proper arguments.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI'm sorry that I made a negative assumption based on one example and a negative bias.
I also agree that we should fold the boorus into one general article.

One article for the booru boards with redirects to save the inbounds should take care of all the issues.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickGoing to agree with that. Where does this need to be decided?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI think maybe a special efforts or a TRS.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickUsually I go to TRS for that - merging pages - but after the Rape tropes thing Special Efforts might not be bad either.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanIf no one has taken care of it or raised an objection to my doing so by the time I get back from my next class, I will take this to the TRS. I don't think there's really going to be that much work involved and I was under the impression that special efforts is either for stuff that will take a long time to fix under normal circumstances or needs to be resolved immediately.
I thought that we weren't supposed to be linking to Danbooru anyway because of NSFW ads? Or do I misremember?
A brighter future for a darker age.
