Let's not place blame. That's counterproductive.
Especially since it's entirely my fault!

He's not specifically naming people, just the broad categories that are most likely to be partially to blame.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.I'm an unproductive lady.
One serious question: If a game is a romance game, with the sex scenes as a natural result of completing the romance arc, does that mean that the game is primarily there for the sex scenes (by this standard)?

I see The Girl Who Lived has two porn votes. Interesting, given that it's apparently not intended to be porn. The author (who is actually male) has gone on record as saying all the naked scenes are meant to represent female empowerment... or something, and actually seemed to be quite offended when people suggested that they were supposed to be titillating. Terrible story, but maybe, just maybe, not porn.
Death of the Author. Doesn't matter what the intent is. What matters is the effect.
And I don't even like Death of the Author as an argument.
I hate Death of the Author, because it doesn't make sense to me. I think the author's opinion should at least be considered by the panel.
I'd doubt that either way. The author of The Girl Who Lived is male so I'd take any claims of "feminism" with a grain of salt.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing. The scene where the girls on the Gryffindor Quidditch team scrub each other down in the shower in loving detail does make one wonder...
The thing is, the author could say anything after the fact. They may have fully intended it to be sexy, and then later when "No, man, it's totally about feminism".
Please don't imply that men can't be feminists. Yes, this claim should be taken with a grain of salt, but not because the author is male.
Of course it's feminist. Or at least...
"Yuri. Because men are overrated."

*TOPIC CHANGE*
So there will occasionally be threads here that are 5P-only. I'm completely fine with that. I was just wondering, is there any way to implement a forum section that's only visible/postable to 5P members (and probably mods), kinda like the mod hidey-hole section? Or would that be to much of a coding nightmare?
*END OF TOPIC CHANGE*
There's nothing wrong with a man being feminist, but the point of sex positive feminism is that women should control their own sexuality. When a man is writing schoolgirls into erotic situations it's still a man controlling some kind of sexuality in the end. That's why I hate that argument in Red Hood And The Outlaws.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing. Why would there need to be one? At least part of the point of the panel is so that decisions are transparent (to a degree).

Well, the point of this was so that 5P threads would be visible to the rest of us, so we can know about what's going on. (See: Transparency.)
"Only postable in by 5Ps and mods" might be a better call.
I see the threads so I don't see what the problem is.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.I'd think there'd need to be one only to keep from needing to thump non-5P posts. Another way it could work is like the Edit-Banned thread, which only lets you post if you're banned or a mod. So only 5Ps and mods could post in the section, while anyone who wants to could still read it.
DAMMIT i forgot how this thread moves so fast

There shouldn't be a need to thump people. If they can't understand what "5P only" means, then that is their fault.
There shouldn't, but "should" and "is" have nothing to do with each other.
I obviously don't know how the mods think, but I have a feeling they don't have any problem with thumping people who can't follow simple instructions.
I could see it being an issue if a thread is obviously open to other tropers but they're not supposed to post there. Making read-only threads for tropers to see might not be a bad idea.
Now using Trivialis handle. In our ongoing wikistress over this policy crisis, some of us discussed this topic at length in the wrong thread. I got a lot of serious site issues off my chest, and am now tired...
Bobby G said that Death of the author wasn't an argument anyway
I agree and I want to add that the number of sex scenes doesn't matter but the context. For example, if a game only has 1 sex scene but the scene is at the end and its got children in it then imo it is a paedo's game.
Dutch Lesbian
I blame bad editors, pedos(ok, maybe there's only 2 of those) and trolls for all this.
