It's a big issue with translation things when grade levels and expected ages for them don't translate right from one culture to another. Middle school is longer in Japan and High School is shorter.

Concerning content progression: I talked about the last two volumes in comparison to the first two because it's a progressive increase - by the time you hit volume 3 it's mainly masturbation and oral sex in each chapter (and the occasional act of penetration), lasting for about half a chapter each time, but it's only when you reach the last two chapters that penetrative sex is depicted in nearly every chapter.

That first chapter did seem that much tamer than the chapters in the 30's and 40's I skimmed through.

Yeah, but there's another bit in the same manga that gives her age as 16. So I suppose it's inconsistent or the translator just sucks. One or the other. Either way, 15-16 in appearance and much older mentally and emotionally and that's a far cry from 12.

Well, she was in her human form there, which apparently looks younger. I don't know.

...Think the point is, the story sure doesn't portray that girl as a child, nor is she treated as one, so for all intents and purposes, she's not a child.

No, she does not act like a child nor does the narrative treat her as one. There are jokes about her chest size making her look young and it gives her A-Cup Angst, but she's treated as an adult.

I don't know, I was never young.

I'd say she acts age-appropriate for her apparent age (typical Tsundere attitude) which could go anywhere from teenager to young adult - aside from the whole "make male lead ejaculate" business.

Shima: Well, I guess it's a mileage issue on my part then, because I thought it was potentially titillating. But if the majority of reviewers think otherwise, then assume that I'm the outlier in this case and carry on.

If the other 5P-ers maintain their stance on this after reviewing the evidence, then I have no issues with keeping it.

Potentially titillating is no where close to the same ball park as "primary purpose of the work is arousal." Potentially titillating is irrelevant. Linoleum is potentially titillating. That phrase means nothing. Is the primary focus on arousal? Answer is a clear no.
