It sort of feels like K On With Gun Porn. But heavy on the moe, talking around the porn, and not enough emphasis on the actual Gun Porn. Honestly, the highlight for me was the picture in the second episode of the 12.7 mm bullet...

I was kind of disappointed that some of the charm of the manga's character designs was lost in the adaptation (like FNC's unique eyes). Nevermind the HIPS.

I find that the original usually has the best art, other than maybe novels. A manga or visual novel adapted into an anime tends to look better in its original form, and an anime adapted into a manga tends to look better as an anime. Well, I've not read that many mangas that are based on an anime, but they seem to lack some art quality.

Oh my god, the explanation of the L85's history was amazing. That's probably the most overt bashing of another country I've seen in an anime...

You can't even write racist abuse in excrement on somebody's car without the politically correct brigade jumping down your throat!

I can't believe it took me 3 episodes to realize this: Faaru => FAL, Funco => FNC. And for those who do not know and are curious, the older girl in kindergarten might be an FN P90.

This series is growing on me. Also one of few anime where I actually like the censoring. It's not annoying, and it makes it less creepy. The first episode so far seems non-indicative of the series.

Last episode proved one thing for me. Sig usually wins. When she fails, she still wins*

It would make more sense if you've read far enough through the manga. Also it's listed VERY visibly on the Upotte wiki entry right here. Both girls are essentially modded AK-47s using NATO bullets, and all of the AK variants are visually catgirls. While Galil keeps the ears and tail, SAKO gets elf ears due to her Finnish origins.

I don't know if the show will keep the Atami shootout arc since it's 12 episodes at least. This is where things will get ugly.

You know, I really like the strict rules they have that usually follows fighting with weapons. Has anyone ever gotten into trouble for shooting someone or displaying a lax concern for safety? Well, granted, they won't die even if you kill*

them, but still. And they once got into trouble in class for having their weapons out.

The most the kids got was a stern reprimand in Upotte Nano (where the Uzi sisters had a showdown with the H&K kids). I think everyone has taken it for granted that everyone in the school (aside from the Japanese Lit teacher) are also guns, and as such resistant to being shot.

Heck, I think the only mention of anyone possibly getting killed was when SAKO was taunting Elle to go ahead and fire her rifle despite its muzzle being clogged by mud...

There wasn't even that much concern when the human teacher was hospitalised'. Well, that actually did bring a suspension. Three days. The second'' time she did it.

Though thinking about it, that's probably more punishment than many other series...

For a one-off character, I like Steyr's design. Had to laugh at her changing hairstyles to reflect how the gun can be adjusted to both long-range and short-range combat.

Good episode though that Sako-Galil tactic were rather obvious (at least I would do same) and it was rather stupid for M16 not thing about it at all.

Btw how exactly work that "Fanning" thing that Ichiroku used? I read in wiki about that but didn't exactly understood its explanation.
