^Actually, their pronunciation of sayan sounds like what I and Japanese people would say Actually, I would say something really odd, but I'm pretty sure thats how Japanese pronounce it, you can correct me xD

That trailer... meh. Preteen!Komodin would've enjoyed this. The Komodin of tonow just feels outright embarrassed to watch that. Why must these Kinect games always make one look like an utter fool while playing them?
Also, the dude pronounced "Saiyan" wrong. That just ain't right, yo.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows. So this is like, the first western-anything to properly pronounce Saiyan and people are complaining that it's pronounced improperly?
what
Blame pop culture.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Because it's awkward. Like, seriously awkward. If the show switched its pronunciation of "Saiyan" for DBZ Kai, for example, I suppose that'd be fine. It's the new interpretationa nd all that. But doing it like this, unexpectedly in a trailer feels more like switching the pronunciation somewhere between episode 63 and 64. We're used to it being pronounced differently in America, in the same way that we're used to Goku's monk friend only having one "R" in his name. The unexpected pronunciation swap is like the pit-filled cherry on top of a sundae made of awkward.
But this is all insubstantial, because I'd bet you the price of the game that they'll be pronouncing it the usual in the actual game.
I have a message from another time...what
English dubs rot people's brains.
I mean seriously, this isn't even the first time this has happened. On top of my head:
- A commercial for DBZ toys pronounced Dr. Gero as "Dr. Gear-oh" and got called on it ("Gear-Oh" is actually correct)
- Yu-Gi-Oh TGC players were known to pronounce Umi "you-me" and anyone who pronounced it the right way ("ooo, me") was called wrong.
- Don't even get me started on "Ryu."
That's a rather sweeping generalization.
I have a message from another time...An unnecessary one, at that. How about we go back on topic; I can't see this thread ending well otherwise...
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.Yeah, I forgot all about U.S. Manga Corps and Streamline, who usually produced good U.S. dubs (even if the latter liked to take liberties). Sorry bout that.
Revisal then: the dub of DBZ rots peoples brains.
visit my blog!Dude, knock it off already. Sheesh...
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.I'm sorry. I'd actually post a more meaningful statement, but I'm laughing too hard right now.
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadUm, guys, this is a thread for discussing the game, is it not? Surely we can all do that without endlessly derailing about the pronounciation of a silly word and dragging that argument around? Or complaining about dubs we don't like?

"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI think they did so around four hours ago.
Surely. But a friendly reminder never hurts.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI'm laughing at the volatile Youtube comments that think Saiyan is being pronounced wrong, and the gifs showing up that replace the Kinect player with other people in the screen where he and Freeza are facing off. For example.◊
Apart from that, I'm sad that this is what we're getting for the yearly game. This really is a poor effort from Namco-Bandai, they're just recycling everything from Ultimate Tenkaichi and so this is essentially just "Ultimate Tenkaichi Kinect Version".
Wow, so Dragon Ball Z still has a marketable audience at this stage?
I suppose it's evident by Dragon Ball Evolution that there's still the willingness to make more DBZ stuff.
But didn't Dragon Ball Evolution flop due to it being terrible (actually I have no idea if this is true - people might have watched it for all I know!).
I would have thought the Execs would have seen the flop and blamed it on the franchise being bad or something.
"Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes."To be honest, I have idea at what audience they are aiming this either. DBZ was the cool thing of the 90s, and the only people still honestly interested in it are the people that liked it back then. And now they come with something obviously marketed for kids.
Seriously, what the heck? Who thought this was ever a good idea?
That is a good point, ever since Kai flopped I would have thought they would have given up on it or at least waited a few years.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!KAI? Flopped??
sure, thats sounds more like an opinion,Evolution? no doubt it, KAI, Really???
knock it off guys, sheesh...
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Xan-Xan/Ok, the laughing is out of my system.
While the concept is good on paper, its execution (namely, recycling Ultimate Tenkaichi and reformatting it for the Kinect) leaves something to be desired.
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadThat's not really a problem of audience or era I think. DBZ games sell when they are good. The PS 2 games were good, and each new game was somehow an improvement, up to Tenkaichi 3 (which was 2005 or 6, so not exactly in the 90').
The next-gen games are but inferior versions of the PS 2 games, and each one is worse than the one before. The devs and/or editors just seem… out of ideas. This thing looks like a nail in the coffin. I'm not even sure they really aim for kids here, but that they really think they can appeal to the fanbase…
Now the only hope is to have people desperate enough for attention to film themselves playing.

Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.Well, yeah, they sold, but they were probably only bought by the 90s generation. I mean, it's been ages since I saw anyone under the age of 20 that actually watched Dragonball.
They prefer up to date franchises now.
And pokemon, but it seems likely that pokemon will be time eternal at this point.

Watch SymphogearI'm well aware of this… well, if they really are aiming at kids, that's all the more stupid, I'll agree with you on that.

I love Dragon Ball, but... let's just make a list here:
I just can't do this, you guys. I really can't.
I liked it better when Questionable Casting was called WTH Casting Agency
