I guess Namco figured out that Fan Web Comics make pretty good advertising. I wish more companies were this savvy about webcomics.

Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Two new comics announced for release, based on Rapid Thunder and Wonder Momo respectively.
http://shiftylook.com/news/ http://shiftylook.com/news/c2e2-shiftylook-presents-rapid-thunder/
I'm suprised they decided to make Momo more fanservicey than the game. Wasn't the game pratically formed around fanservice?
Also: gee, sure is a quiet thread around here. I would have thought something like this would have been more popular.
A good writer puts in a lot of details in there story. But a great one gets a story from a single detail.I'm surprised at how quiet it is, too. I didn't even know the site existed until the announcement of their new Katamari series came out last week. Went ahead and added a page for Shifty Look and their newest comic. Maybe that'll help word get around some more?
Whoa, I thought I had to make my own discussion board for this website! No idea this was here!
Anyway, out of curiosity, the cartoony Art Shift that Legend of the Valkyrie got earlier this year, did it make the comic any better? Don't get me wrong, I like it, I'm just wondering if I'm in the minority or not.

I think you can guess that I forgot this thread existed too, from the fact that I didn't mention it to you. (I'm a bit ashamed too, since I posted in the thing...)
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Hey, don't worry about it. I'm sure it could've happen to anyone.
In the most recent Valkyrie comic: Oh my god! Zouna ate Moonlight! That b*stard!

I've enjoyed the Katamari Damacy one, although I really need to get caught back up again...
I should ask again:
Did the cartoony Art Shift for Legend of the Valkyrie make the overall comic better?
Sorry to double post, but...
To anyone reading Bravoman and is at the reverse universe arc, I'm not the only one whose reading Reverse! Bravoman's lines with his best impression of Batman, am I?
And who's hoping that when they adapt this arc into the web cartoon, it'll have Rob Paulsen doing his best impression of Batman?

Just noticed this thread have no word on Namco High, even though it is actually a relevant topic here.
Namco High is a project by Shifty Look and directed by Andrew Hussie. It is Dating Sim game in which you control a Katamari Damacy cousin and dates characters from multiple Namco proprieties. More relevant to this thread, is that these characters come mostly from the Shifty Look webcomics and have their design based on that, rather than on the games themselves.
You can go here to check out their website and see all the characters available. The game will be released on the 17th of this month.
So here's the most recent episode of Mappy:
Am I the only one who can't get over how they made Valkyrie sound like a dude? Couldn't they get a female voice actress like, I don't know, Cristina Valenzuela or something? I bet she could've pulled it off nicely.

Sorry to double-post, but I just recently made a page for Legend of the Valkyrie.
If anyone is interested in filling it up (especially with the tropes covering the original game), go ahead.
I'm sad that the Mappy cartoon is gone now.
Still, with news like this, looks like Shiftylook is doing something.
Wow, I was starting to think I was the only one who knew about this website. Seriously, there should be more discussions over here.
Anyway, I wouldn't hold my breath. After all, did they actually say they'd stop doing Mappy?
Sorry for the double post but, new Klonoa:

Hmmm, I don't know about you guys, but I wonder what's up with Lolo in that very last panel...
And new Bravoman:

"T.D.O.B"?
GASP!
They don't mean The Death Of Bravoman? Or maybe The Death Of Bomb? Do they?

Well, this came out of nowhere.

Other companies should do this, seriously.
It's not just that game.
ShiftyLook in its entirety will shut this summer. Say goodbye to Namco High and all the webcomics (some of which will be sold as print collections from UDON).

Seriously though, why the hell are they doing this?! Talk about a massive case of Dropped a Bridge on Him, right?
I mean, Jesus, why?

Before I forget, here's another reaction video:
Sums my feelings up very well.

Has the whole website gone crazy?!
Am I the only one around here who gives a shit about this website?!
Why is no one else talking about these news?
Is this a good thing in your opinion? Bad? Are you glad it's leaving? What? Say anything!
(P.S. Anyone who knows what I'm quoting, make yourself something sugary or whatever, I guess.)
Don't worry, Joe. You're not the only one who's sad to hear this...
I've been wondering why the website's gone under the radar, yeah. Only read Galaga, though. (And, hey, look, that wrapped up as of this past Monday. Guess that's over and done with.)

So some time ago, Namco decided to get webcomics made for their more obscure games, and some for their mobile games.
http://shiftylook.com/
There's comics based on Bravoman, Sky Kid, Xevious, Alien Confidental, Rocket Fox, And then there's the Five Dimenisional Adventure of Dirk Davies, which is based on (of all things) Warp And Warp, and finally Scar, the newest addition, which is based off the japanese-only game Genpeitomaden. (Humourously, even the writer of that comic hadn't heard of that game when he was offered the job, and had to look it on his iphone before accepting the job.)
It has small updates, but the fact that Namco is willing to do this, and maybe even start making other things like cartoons if it's really successful, warrants a forum, and perhaps a page, methinks.
A good writer puts in a lot of details in there story. But a great one gets a story from a single detail.
