Azumi certainly is an interesting story.

This story definitely has Adaptation Displacement written all over it. Maybe you've heard of the Live Action Film. But have you heard of the original manga, which has 48 volumes?

I can tell you that finding the manga on Google is...difficult, to say the least. I guess it's just that obscure!

I did hear that the film and manga have some differences. For instance, in the film, that psycho murderer Azumi had to fight played a very prominent role. In the manga, he was apparently a One-Scene Wonder!

the scene where Hideo Kojima loses an arm for imitating his crotch-groping fetish from MGS games alone makes the film worth it...

[up] I have to say that I'm surprised that Hideo Kojima would show up in a film like that. Hey, don't get me wrong, he has made some interesting games. It's just that, well, the fact that he is so open about his fetishes with crotch-grabbing and prepubescent girls comes off as just disturbing. Hey, maybe that whole chopping-off-his-arm thing was like a Take That! aimed at him! evil grin
