You are misreading it, Defanged Horrors are the sister trope to Adult Fear. Nightmare Fuel is not a trope as we list them, it is an audience reaction that hasn't been deleted because of popularity.
If someone has an idea of how to better write the description or any other idea to make the page more clear please post it, otherwise I think this discussion should be locked.

Bluesunnyday, you need to provide more substantial evidence that a page is broken somehow than simply "I don't see how it's a trope" when making TRS threads. Thanks.

Do we really need this trope? It just seems like a way to appeal to the tropers who go "Oh, it's from a kid's show! It can't REALLY be scary!" I mean, unless I'm mis-reading the trope or something, it seems like "Nightmare Fuel, except it's for kids so it isn't REAL Nightmare Fuel."
