Also, Collectors Editions have been announced, one for the UK and one for the US. Best part is that neither will come at an extra cost, all initial copies should of have them.
Not good. This game hasn't made much of an impact and GAF impressions aren't too hot either. The short length is one complaint, no combos, confusing story towards the start...not worth the full price at the very least.
Watch demon love it anyway.

I also heard through this wiki that this is the first Suda 51 game with an explicit Downer Ending.

Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987It's called having an opinion.
Same thing happened with initial Metal Gear Rising impressions, remember.
Besides, it's like many Action games of it's type. They are short, but encourage replayability to increase your rankings in each stage. I don't see what the problem is.

Watch SymphogearActually they compared it to MGR on length, saying that MGR sort of makes you want to experience on higher levels, while Ki D doesn't have that same feeling + the combat is not as good(which is expected).
It's okay if you like the game really but I think you need to be aware of its flaws and not pretend they don't exist.
I'm not saying that.
I'm saying that it's a Suda51 game.
Expect lots of flaws, but the characters and ridiculousness of everything to help make up for it, which is what many people expect from him.
Just saying.
Also, using the opinions of others as a way to judge a game for you is nothing but stupidity at best
Actually getting the game for yourself and heading to you're own conclusion is the best way to judge something, such as a game like this.

Watch SymphogearI agree the best way is to experience it for yourself, but at the same time you need to know what you're getting yourself into. Remember, this is a 60 dollar game you're buying, and as a consumer of a product you should educate yourself on what to expect from it. Critic reviews only say so much but when other consumers are echoing the same issues and maybe more, that should send off a red flag like "okay am I alright with that? How much will that hamper my experience with the game? Is this worth what I'm paying?" Not listening to other opinions on something drawn from their own experience with it is pretty ignorant in itself, especially in videogames where it's not always clear whether or not the product is what it claims to be.
This conversation is stupid.
I think the combat looks a little stiff but that didn't stop me form logging a hundred hours into No More Heroes and a friend of mine who played it at an event said it was the best playing Suda game, so I'm not going to be too judgmental just yet.
My bigger issue is the tone. It seems too serious for me. I mean Killer 7 was fairly serious but it was so surreal that that worked for it. From what I've sen of Ki D (And granted, it's not a ton) the game treats it's subject matter fairly straight faced, whereas No more Heroes took a much more casual tone with it's violence.
I can't really find the words to describe what about the game I don't like, it just seems less fun than NMH. But again, that's based off of very little and for all I know was just that one level.
nyo ho hoEGM did say that this game's story is "Suda 51's most ridiculous and nonsensical plot yet." So perhaps it's just that one level that seems too serious.
Speaking of reviews, more of them keep coming in and the reception continues to be mixed. Polygon's review is one of the more negative ones, giving the game 4.5/10 and stating the game is memorable for the wrong reasons.
I want this game badly... but that price tag...
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Might have to hold out on it for a little while longer. Seems like the typical flaws of a Suda 51 game are here and turned Up To Eleven, with added technical problems like screen tearing and collision detection issues. Plus, there are those Gigolo missions that may or may not be clearly sexist and creepy towards women. Although fans of the game aren't quite as hard on it, so I dunno.

Can you settle for renting it?

Define "renting".
Seriously, though, rental stores are a thing of the past here, except for one minor chain that doesn't stock the latest hits at all. I can't afford Gamefly due to having no job.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Gamefly was what I was referring to. Sucks to hear that you can't afford it since it's a huge money saver for playing new games. :(
Killer Is Dead is coming to PC in May. It'll cost $20 and will have some extras, including a new Nightmare difficulty mode, the Smooth Operator DLC pack added in for free, and a Theater mode to view all the cutscenes.
Snagged the Limited Edition for $30 on 360. Currently up to Episode 9 story-wise, but absolutely love the Episode 51 DLC.
I lost my shit at Juliet Starling hiding in a barrel for no reason.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Killer is Dead is unlocking in 14 hours on Steam. There's currently a preorder special discount of $2 to make it so that you only have to pay $18 if you want it now. Anyone already preordered/interested in doing so?
Yup, now it's out. Early impressions from reviewers at Steam indicate it's a solid port, with the one major downside being it's locked at 30 fps, but that can be fixed in the .ini files.
Scratch that: there are other cases where people are crashing in the prologue mission or something.

I'm playing the pc port and so far no issues. Most issues come from 32-bit users tho'...
So this is one of Suda's crazier games eh?
So, I bought this game yesterday. I bought it for my Xbox 360. I have to say, this is my first Suda 51 game. This game is pretty weird. It's serious yet it has this quirky vibe to it. I kind of like it but I can see why people don't like it. The combat is nice and the art is pretty good. The story is a little hard to follow but I like the missions. I just finished missions 5 and 6 hours ago. I'll update my progress.
Be warned that Suda 51 hasn't actually directed a game since No More Heroes 2, so its actually very different from his studio's usual fare.
Watch SymphogearI didn't know he didn't work on this game. Thanks for telling me.
