New Suda 51 game: Killer is Dead

Initial details. Apparently intended as the third in a "spiritual trilogy" with Killer7 and No More Heroes which I really should get around to finishing sometime. Some say that it's set in the same universe as the former but I think that's just misconstrued.

So, he's the guy who you call to take out a Contract on the Hitman.

That's kind of the plot of Killer 7 to be honest.

Looks like info on the game is to be presented in a series of trailers, focusing on different characters. First, Mondo, then that girl with all those Mecha-Shiva arms.

So, if Mondo's BIONIC AAARM can turn into a gun, why does he even need a sword?

Judging from what I've read here, it seems that Mondo's arm attacks are fueled by adrenalin/blood, and act like a Limit Break.

Looks plenty stylish, as one might expect from Suda 51. Now the question is: will playing it be as fun as watching it?

For a moment I could've sworn that the main character said "KIRA IS DED-TO."

Would've been freaking awesome if there was a Death Note crossover involving this guy gunning down hordes of Kira-worshippers to finally get a shot at Light Yagami (and then fail horribly due to his insane plots), but oh well, I guess it'll just be a thing of my dreams then.

We need Suda51+ Platinum games.

God Hand is probably the closest we've gotten to that (Grasshopper Manufacture did the music).

Aww. I saw the name Mondo, and for a moment I thought it was gonna tie into the Silver Case continuity.

You know what's funny? Suda 51 makes these crazy, unprecedented, off-the-wall games that nobody else could possibly fathom but they all still fall prey to T&A pandering, the most blatantly overused trope in Japanese games nowadays.

He does have the presence of mind o make it so over the top that it just whips around into parody, though.

Like, there's no way he wasn't taking the piss with Johnson, from what I hear about him.
