Given the whole "right eye cracking" thing, Leda's appearance, and her screams of pain, I'd say it's that mixed in with some Body Horror.

Just spill it, Renton. The worst thing that can happen is rejection, but the most likely thing is that she'll just misinterpret what you say literally, and you can spin it to save face.

Also, on serious love advice, one shouldn't just spit it out right away. It puts them immediately on the defensive. What one needs to do is first approach indirectly. Once start as friend, sending mixed signals and such helps. I used to do such all time by keeping up whole Chivalrous Pervert aspects. Easy enough since part of me anyway, but I digress. Do that, make yourself appear to be object of desire so more attracted in or other things like power of contrast by having someone be your foil, maybe insinuate a few things, etc. It's a process that one has to carefully build - and even then, plans must be custom made for person.

Plus various other things, but eh, discussion on such thing is a whole other thing. Titan time!

Right now, I think I might be more interested in the relationship between Holland and Talho than the one between Renton and Eureka.

Great, so now we're gonna do the Aesop an episode thing now? Terrific.

In it's defense, you'll often find an aesop with positive character development. Whether obvious or not, still there. A positive attitude one could have to it is at least they aren't starting off as an instant perfect team and character development will take place.
