No, Toonami is Adored by the Network, specifically [adult swim].

If Thunder Cats 2011 was Adored by the Network it wouldn't have gotten yanked around the schedule and would've been renewed for season 2 by now.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.

[up]x3 But the reason it was shuffled around in the first place is because it wasn't doing so well even with promotion. CN tried to promote it the best they could, but it just wasn't getting enough ratings.

Time to leave them all behind

Yeah. They were not getting the demographic they wanted and then they took a break in between the two parts of season one plus moving it to a new day without saying to get the demographic they wanted.

Compared to how CN promotes DC Nation or Dreamworks' Dragons or just about every other show, their promotion of Thunder Cats is laughable. There's a commercial for Dragons multiple times per day letting people know its on and when to see it. The promotion for Thundercats seemed to consist solely of hyping it up before the premiere. After that, I saw barely ANY commercials ever on the air promoting the show, or at least hardly any good commercials. The premiere got great ratings, but all promotion after that just seemed to vanish. I seriously doubt CN tried their best, because if they did there would have been a lot more ads. It's like they hoped that by hyping it up they wouldn't need to spend any more money on commercials to let people know.

Seriously, it disgusts me how little the show got promoted. Including Thundercats in CN's 20th birthday promos is a lot more exposure. To this day I still find people on tumblr who didn't even know the reboot existed, much less know when it was airing. And I think the same can be said for Sym-Bionic Titan. Both of these shows got little promotion and changed time slots, which does a good show a lot of harm. A late time slot doesn't help either when trying to get kids 6-11 either, which is why apparently the ratings for that demo went way up when they switched to Saturday mornings, but it would have helped so much more if CN bothered to let everyone know it was going to air then. I remember a lot of people being completely unaware when it aired on Saturdays. But you can bet your ass CN will always let you know when Dragons or Adventure Time or Regular will be on.

I know I only caught the switch because my DVR was set to record new episodes. It was really mishandled.

Pointing out that the network promoted other shows far more than Thundercats/Titan isn't the same as blaming those other shows.

Meh, I think so too, from what I saw.

The animation on the whole is the best out of all his works.

I disagree. I actually think the characters in Sym Titan look absolutely terrible. The robots and creatures look fine, though.

Plus, really, I think Samurai Jack was better.

I do think Sym Titan had a lot of potential, though, and I was eager to see where it was going to go.

Yeah, I'm not blaming those other shows, because I enjoy them too. It just sucks that CN seems to have such little love for their action shows these days, save for Ben 10, while by comparison they love to hype up everything else that's non-action, good or bad. I'm a little amazed they even green lit the DC Nation action block.

In some ways I do like Titan more than Jack, because Titan had a stronger plot and character development. At the same time, I really like how experimental Jack could be at times.

Jack had some amazing episodes. Some off days, too, but stuff like Jack and the Lava Monster, or the end of the one with the wishing well? Just pure gold.

Last weeks numbers are in. Overall numbers are actually looking up. People actually tuned in to watch Thundercats and Sym Bionic Titan, and the Hour Long blocks hold onto their ratings really well. The only downside is the gap between Samurai Seven and Casshern Sins had continued to widen, and the 2AM shows did better than the 1AM shows. I dunno if that'll hold true next week though, since we can't tell how many people who tuned into the western shows are actually going to stick with it and not just have tuned in for novelty value.

Actually just ran the numbers, turns out it's the second best night of Nunami aired, second only to week two.

Thundercats and Titan did really well compared to last week's FMA:B and GITS in their place. 727k and 717k respectively, compared to 476k for FMA and 448k for Ghost. Granted that both shows are in reruns and GITS has been for years, this is also the second run of TC and Titan and they both have the so-called "stigma" of being made for kids.

The hour-long blocks also did really well compared to anything in the block of reruns except Bleach, which kind of surprised me considering how overplayed GITS and Bebop are considered to be. I hope this isn't a fluke, I'd love to see them get more ad income if this continues.

Edit: Bleach broke 1 million again, too, so that's something, even if it does sadden me that 250k viewers switch away as soon as it ends.

It doesn't move the plot along very quickly, but I think it's pretty entertaining as it drags its feet. I figure when you convert a movie into a full-length anime series you're gonna have to stretch things out, and I think they could have done it a lot worse.

[up] I'm interested in seeing what else they'll have on Toonami after Casshern Sins ends. As long as they have more anime than western animation that I don't give a crap about.

Right now, I'm only watching Eureka 7 aka The Sucky Life of Renton Thurston, Age 14. And, man, those three kids are some of the most annoying characters ever.

Told you they were. They get a bit more tolerable over time, though Maurice loses it near the end (which is understandable given the situation, but still REALLY stupid).

You mean when he says that he doesn't care about anyone else and wants all the attention for himself?

And really, Eureka Seven gets so much better in future parts. Minus those damn kids. I looked it up with Hulu episode I'm thinking of in particular, which sadly won't be for a few months. Still, various good things before then, particularly once one of my favorite antagonists in the series is introduced.
