Quite fitting how the promo for the first Gundam show on the [adult swim] version of Toonami is meaningfully echoing the promo of the first Gundam show that was seen on the original version of Toonami, isn't it? 
For the sake of comparison:

Bobobo would certainly be better appreciated among an older demographic, given that the show was so many different kinds of weird you kinda had to be stoned or off your gourd to fully enjoy it.
The OP was catchy as all get out, too.
So, I just realized the teaser music before Champloo is the same one used for Rurouni Kenshin when it aired on Toonami. And it fits so well. (It helps that Jin is Saito.)

... Y'know... I'm not sure we'd ever get anything on the level of the soundtrack for Samurai Champloo nowadays. It's such a shame that the artist that did the OP and ED died some years ago.

Actually, there are a lot of artists in the chillhop scene that were either contemporaries of Nujabes or influenced by his works. (Uyama Hiroto, for example, was a frequent collaborator of Nujabes and I'd say his sounds are probably some of the closest ones to Nujabes' out there.) That said, it's hard to imagine that anyone could (re)produce the same kind of ambience Nujabes, Tsutchie, Fat Jon, and Force of Nature combined to bring to Samurai Champloo. The soundtrack is pretty much lightning in a bottle.

Also I just thought of this but after watching all these episodes now I gotta ask: Does Mugen take the spotlight more from Jin or not?

It's mostly even in terms of focus between them, I'd say.
Such a beautiful ED. I honestly think I like it more than the regular one, both by its own merits and given the context of the respective episode.
