This image relies on the caption to demonstrate the trope. There is no way to tell from the picture alone that the two spaceships have identical function.

One idea I had for a replacement is something like The Red Alert 2 Attack Dog icons. These would demonstrate the trope better because they are both clearly Attack Dogs, just a different breed, which presumably has no in game effect. Amphibious Transports from the same game would also work.

The only issue I can forsee with this is that since they are icons, the picture quality would be terrible. Does anyone have ideas for a replacement with decent quality?

This is probably going to get vetoed, though I find them all to be functionally identical.

I don't really think any of the suggestions are any better.

The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.

I think what we really need is something that shows both the units and the stats, so you can see they are functionally identical.

[up] Must it be an in-game shot? The stats of both ships are available online.

Fire Emblem does this sort of thing a lot. I'll see if I can find a better image.

Belief or disbelief rests with you.

[up] Isnt that just Pallete Swap?

Where the two sides are identical besides their colour, it's a Palette Swap.

This they have to look different but have the same abilities.

IE In the Halo multiplayer Elites and Spartans are exactly alike aside from the obvious differences by the former being alien and the latter being human.

What about this from Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness?

Alternatively, with the title if needed:

Ok I like that a lot, without the title works though as we will pothole to the work.

The title doesn't add anything; supporting the version sans it.

That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.

Idea:

"Okay, I guess that's a little bit more effort than Chess..."

Or another game that features a Palette Swap.

[up] That, I could get behind. Hell, that would've been a much simpler route to take for the pic itself.
