Sticky, please?
New here? Or a regular poster here who is searching for forum games that are actually good? Perhaps looking for new ones that show some promise but can't find any? Then this is the place to be.
The purpose of this thread is for troper forum gamers to recommend forum games to other posters that ask (like a sub-forum library of some sort), or to recommend your latest created forum game.
When posting recommendations, it is preferable that you link the name of the forum game to its thread, along with a description of what the forum game is about.
Forum game rules still apply here.
FORUM GAME RECS
Our Avatars Are Posting In A Forum Thread: What if your avatar was part of a forum thread? This is the result.
Our avatars have been genderflipped: Same as above, but applied to your avatars.
Corrupt-A-Wish: One person makes a wish, the other grants and corrupts it, then makes a wish etc.
1000 bad reasons to declare war: Self-explanatory.
Bad ideas for forum games v2: Thread topic ideas that are likely to get you banned or shunned.
1000 things we've learned from video games: Just started by me, a humorous look at things video games teach us.
Happy recommending and happy forum gaming!

I think it's because you usually aren't at all familiar with the above two characters, so you practically cannot write up a response.
edit to prevent double posting: [1] Actually, I might make a separate forum game where you only provide the names of the difficulties without needing any extra details.

Remind me to kill that annoying speakerConsidering starting a Guess the Book Character game on TVT; would like some critique/review on the rules I'd written for it please.
Link to the google doc that contains said rules.
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."The Cutaway Game is pretty funny.
Currently Reading: N/AI already made such a game before.
~Geeky Girl 13098021 I made the thread before you said anything. Since the Guess the Disney Character thread we have is a reboot of a previous version and I legit have never seen your version pop up, I think it's acceptable to consider my thread a reboot of yours.
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."I couldn't really say anything because I was suspended, and fair enough.

Some forum games for anyone who’s interested

psst, you have to explain what a link is when posting it
"Leftover items still have value!"How about The above troper is a plushie, but with avatars instead of tropers?
Ocean | He/TheyWould a "Bad Trope Idea Example Maker" game be a good idea?
I imagine that it would involve a Troper listing a trope from the Bad Trope Ideas thread, and the next troper would make up an example wholesale from a fictional work like in the Fake Trope Example Maker thread.
Currently Reading: N/AFan of Party Crashers? Mario Party TV?
Enjoyed the Hunger Games Simulation forum game but wanted to be in something slightly more relaxing? Dreaming of a Super Smash Bros. equivalent to Mario Party? Or saw glimpses of fanart of various characters, both from the Super Mario Bros. universe and outside, stuck in Mario Party mini-games or boards?
Mario Party Overboarded might be that solution!
We're coming up on a potential pivotal point in the forum game before our next board — as by this point, the structure has been pretty much codified. I'm predicting three of the four nomination slots to be still open a while after this message is fully written. Slots are valuable, but that leaves enough time to think of a character to nominate (resources and instructions on how to do so is in the first post).
Would like to see either new folks to the forum game or old players that haven't been playing on a MPO board in a good while for our upcoming first board of 2024. Roleplaying posts are somewaht common here and serve as great points of immersion. Our trek in Mario Party 2's Horror Land is a good example.

"Some people are damaged. Some people are really damaged. And then... some people are broken."I know we already have the Google Translate the above passage game (although it's been dead for several months, probably because Google Translate's character limit makes it difficult), but how about a Google Translatophone game? It'd be a mix between the aforementioned Google Translate game and telephone: first person posts a passage, the second translates that through a few languages, and we keep on doing this for 10, 15, maybe even 20 posts. To provide a demonstration:
- Troper 1: Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? (SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS!) Absorbent and yellow and porous is he! (SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS!)
- Troper 2: Who actually lives under the sea? (Spongebob Squarepants!) Drink, yellow and porous! (Spongebob Squarepants!)
- Troper 3: Really under the sea? (There’s Spongebob Squarepants!) Drink, yellow and porous! (There’s Spongebob Squarepants!)
- Troper 4: Really under the sea? (There's SpongeBob SquarePants!) Drink, yellow with holes! (There's SpongeBob SquarePants!)
I love that one.
Here’s mine: Make your own Krabby Patty formula.
First: users suggest five ingredients (one per commenter) then five steps to cook (again, one per commenter). It can be as outlandish or down to earth as one wants.
May even suggest the first user of a new round suggests the dish. I just used Krabby Patty as an example.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Sounds fun, maybe give it a more general name like "The Recipe Game"

"Leftover items still have value!"The recipe game it is.
I’m gonna propose another one: A game where you determine what real world films or television shows a fictional character would watch. Once again, limit of ten per character, though a character can be revisited 30 days after their list is complete. And I just made it.

The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Just made a "Give the above troper a Total Drama-esque label" game. Check it out here.

How would our avatars react to song recommendations?
"You gotta get better, you're all that I've got / Don't take forever, you're not here for long" - AJR, "2085"I have an idea for what I call the "Trope Example Context Game" where the idea is one person posts a trope example without showing what trope it's attached to, then other players have to guess what trope it is based purely on context.
Does that sound interesting to anyone?
Ever wanted to see the most inexplicably horrifying intro to a game ever? That could be fun. It'd also be a good lesson on the importance of avoiding Zero Context Examples and help make players into better wiki editors.
I like cute things. You gotta deal with it.The new the quiz! game is confusing, asking a lot of questions about Ben 10 without giving an explanation on the rule (What do the next posters do after answering the questions? Do they ask another set of questions? Does it have to be related to Ben 10?)
