This is like that Godfather game, where one guy is trying to get someone else framed while he goes around killing people?
I am the once and future king.Sort of, only with a team of villains, and some of the good people have special abilities.
I've figured out my theme, anyways, so I'll start working on roles now. Sign-ups will remain open for 24 hours more, unless someone jumps ship.
I like cute things. You gotta deal with it.Sign me up

The possum is a potential perpetrator; he did place possum poo in the plum pot.I'm still in, but I can't play from August 25th from August 29th. So if I'm still in the game then I won't be active.

Sing the song of sixpence that goes burn the witch, we know where you liveGood to hear you're all still interested. And don't worry, Rvdz; I estimate the game will be over before the 24th.
I like cute things. You gotta deal with it.All right, then, let's get started! For the record, the theme of this round is Mass Effect.
Here's a refresher on the rules for newcomers and people who may have forgotten somehow:
- The game alternates between two phases - the Day Phase and the Night Phase. During each phase, different actions may be taken. The game starts in the Day Phase.
- Day Phase: During this phase, every active player may publicly cast a vote for one person to lynch. If any player wishes to change their vote, they must announce that they will publicly. The person who receives the most votes will be killed when the phase ends (in the event of a tie, a random one of the tied people will die). The Day Phase lasts 48 hours, or will end early if the majority of players vote for one option or all players cast a vote.
- Night Phase: During this phase, one Indoctrinated player will PM me to inform me of who they decide to kill, and other special roles may PM me to tell me who they wish to target. The results of these actions will be determined at the end of the phase. The Night Phase lasts 24 hours, or will end early when all players send me their PMs.
- When a player is killed in any way, their death and role will be announced publicly and the player is removed from the game.
- Non-participants, including both dead players and outside observers, may not reveal game information to active players. However, they may provide extra commentary if they wish as long as they do not affect the game's outcome. Go ahead and cheer on your allies or snark at in-game events, but don't give out spoilers, okay?
- The game will end if all Indoctrinated are killed (in which case all surviving players will win) or if active Indoctrinated outnumber other active players (in which case the Indoctrinated win).
- There are a variety of roles in the game, each with their own traits:
- Squad Member: This game's equivalent of the classic Villager. All players who do not receive other roles will be Squad Members. They have no unusual abilities.
- Indoctrinated: This game's equivalent of the classic Werewolf. There will be two Indoctrinated in the game. These players have been placed under the mental control of the Reapers. They may communicate with each other privately and choose one player to kill each night.
- Special Roles: Two of these roles, selected randomly, will be applied to one player each. They have special powers, whether passive or active, that affect the game in various ways.
- Soldier: A new role. The Soldier possesses no active powers, but makes up for it in sheer toughness and durability. During the night, they will survive the first time any player would otherwise kill them, although a second attack will affect them normally. Furthermore, every day, the first vote cast towards the Soldier will be secretly negated, making them harder to lynch by accident.
- Infiltrator: This game's varient of the classic Seer. The Infiltrator is armed with a cloaking device and knowledge of hacking, and uses these to prowl around and determine who has been indoctrinated. They may choose one player each night to investigate, and will be informed of said player's role at the start of the next day phase.
- Engineer: This game's varient of the classic Guardian. The Engineer is an expert with mechanical devices, allowing them to set up traps and defences around themselves or others. Each night, they may protect one player, preventing other roles from affecting them in any way that night.
- Sentinel: A new role similar to my previous "student" roles. The Sentinel is capable of using biotics, technology or simple combat skills when the need arises, making them a highly versatile individual. When the other special role is killed, the Sentinel will take their place, gaining all of their special abilities.
- Adept: This game's varient of the classic Jailer. The Adept has powerful biotic abilities which allow them to immobilize opponents. Each night, they may put one player in stasis, preventing them from voting the next day and negating all role abilities (including passive ones) for the next day and night. Players in stasis are announced publicly and are still affected by other roles' actions.
- Vanguard: This game's varient of the classic Hunter. The Vanguard has both biotics and combat skills, which they combine in an aggressive charge. One time only during a night phase, they may choose another player to kill. If their target survives somehow or is killed by the Indoctrinated first, the kill attempt is not counted. In addition, should the Vanguard die without making their kill, they will not go down without a fight, and there is a 50% chance that either the Indoctrinated who killed them (at night) or the last player to vote for them (during the day) will die as well.
- To avoid confusion about which actions can interfere with each other, here is the order in which night actions take effect from first to last: Engineer, Adept, Vanguard (targeting neither an Indoctrinated player nor their target) Indoctrinated, Vanguard (targeting an Indoctrinated player or their target), Infiltrator.
Generating roles now. Post in this thread to confirm when you receive yours.
