[up]Even the problem with Alan's dad could have been handwaved as him being half-osmosian/half-pyronite. (Kevin can touch Heatblast without any discomfort.)

Alan never really was a problem.

The vreedle brothers show that Alan's hypothetical parents probably wouldn't have needed to even go to a doctor to have a kid, they could buy a home kit off of space ebay.

As for the relationship of his parents, not every romantic relationship is sexual, and hey, you don't need a romantic or sexual relationship to decide to have a kid together.

Maybe Alan's human parent said someday "You know, I want to have a kid, and I want my kid to be strong, and kind (or whatever features) just like you, and in the valley of death fear no evil because he can cause spontaneous combustion with a look, what do you say?"

Plus it really strains credibility, Kevin and the plumber kids went to the plumber academy, part of a galactic institution that includes beings from the smartest race in the universe, and nobody thought all these half human kids were unusual?

Which means that either alien hybrids are nothing to raise an eyebrow at, or the rooters, who were a bunch of incompetent boobs who probably couldn't find their butts with gps coordinates and a map, I guess mind controlled the entire organization?

Are we really supposed to believe that after years no one mentioned to Azmuth or Verona that Kevin was half osmosian? Azmuth's job was collecting dna from every sapient species in the galaxy, he never noticed that the best friend of the guy he entrusted his most powerful invention ever came from a fictitious species? Verona is an immortal psychic planetary traveler, she never spent any time investigating the species of her favorite granddaughter's boyfriend after a "Huh, never heard of that species."

"The vreedle brothers show that Alan's hypothetical parents probably wouldn't have needed to even go to a doctor to have a kid, they could buy a home kit off of space ebay."

... Wow, I never thought about it. That's actually quite a good explanation.

Plus it really strains credibility, Kevin and the plumber kids went to the plumber academy, part of a galactic institution that includes beings from the smartest race in the universe, and nobody thought all these half human kids were unusual?

I have been telling this since the arc even started.

[up]Pretty sure I suggested that theory at least once here. See page 119 : Last theory is that every hybrid ever is possible thanks to cloning.

Also, another idea what needs to be simplified in reboot: Stone monsters. Keep them mindless golems or species from other dimesion. If the second, explain why are they following her orders.

Maybe they're kinda like animals who imprint on a given "master"?

[up][up][up]The seeming prevalence of half-human hybrids was what inspired me to think that Osmosians were an entire civilization of Heinz Hybrid after Devin was revealed to look human. I have this whole backstory worked out, tying into the "aliens have been visiting Earth for literally billions of years" and "humans are a delicacy" and other one-note jokes, where humans have been exported from Earth for millennia and eventually formed a civilization on the planet-sized Null Void-based space station Osmos V. Osmosians (and other "mutants") were instrumental to early Plumber efforts and Osmos V was incorporated as a US territory. It is notable for the government being corporations, crime syndicates and military all at once. The Rooters (formally ROOT) are one such syndicate who got president approval to engineer Tyke Bombs. This revelation would have caused friction between the US and the Galactic Enforcers, since Magistrata would have no jurisdiction and their crimes were against their own citizens.

[up][up]Maybe the stone creatures come in forms with variable intelligence, like Mechamorphs?

Well, I could see two fanwanks for the inconsistencies where it comes to the Stone Creatures.

One: The stone creatures aren't one race, but at least two races, that just happen to look virtually identical to our eyes. So some are attack dogs/mindless automatons and another is an intelligent race.

Two: The Stone Creatures' intelligence is an emergent property from existing long enough. So Charmcaster started off with mindless automatons, and she's kept at least some of them that they are now employees instead of golems.

Or you know, the writers could just try being consistent in the first place. lol

I got to say, I liked Ledgerdomain and most ideas introduced in "Where magic happens"...but this one doesn't work "Ledgerdomain. Dimension enslaved by Adwaita. I abandoned it long time ago and never came back. There is only way anyway: Doors to Anywhere. Also I summon living beings from there on regular basis to do my bidding."

I don't recall anything saying she's summoning them from an alternate dimension.

Just because they are from there originally doesn't mean that's where they were when she summoned them.

Oh I had a question for you guys, what did you think about Kevin's mutations as a whole? Me, I love the concept, but while I know it's a family friendly show, the "cosplayer who couldn't make up his mind" look isn't really threatening.

I'd have gone with something more along the lines of a Alex Mercer Jr, in concept, as if Kevin was half slimebiote. Girding himself with crystal armor Kevin charges at Ben with enhanced speed, his left hand transforming into flaming tentacles to grab Ben while he's stunned, for example.

Plays up the lovecraftian superpower aspect, and emphasises the transformational nature of his powers, making him work even more as a dark counterpart to Ben.

Funny, a friend of mine had a reimagining of Kevin in this vein...

I just noticed something odd. Uxorites (Xylene's species) lay eggs that hatch into precocious offspring that are left to fend for themselves. Okay... then why do they have Non-Mammal Mammaries? Are those just air sacs or twin tumors used to attract males?

[up] Haven't you watched Futurama? They're obviously egg-sacs

Really, better question is how their culture works. Who teaches kids law, language, right and wrong? Are wild babies just allowed to wander around in cities until they figure out everything on their own?

Actually someone already raised this question^^ And yeah, I have no idea either.

That reminds me, I just saw the "real Ben Ten" episode of omniverse.

Can anyone think of a good reason why Deefus wouldn't assume the form of members of actual aliens on the show?

Would you trust Deefus to come up aliens, if you could just order him to turn into a vulpimancer etc?

I know I wouldn't.

Real aliens arent toyetic enough. Who cares about Four Arms when you can have Tetramand for a neighbor.

[up] I dunno, I don't think the fact that soldier is a real life occupation stunted G.I.Joe's sales.

And if you were an alien willing to shell out for action figures, wouldn't you want the action figure for your people's representation as a superhero?

Although not Rath, since he's indecently exposed. lol

I suppose I could see them thinking that, but it still seems like an odd decision.

[up]Actually it would have been hilarious if Rath had had a in-universe series counterpart who has pants because the guys who did the show thought it was indecent^^'

to be fair, most of Ben's aliens have pretty weird names. You think Ectonurites would think "Ghostfreak" is cool?

OK, another theory: they did used original aliens, but the Hokestar came up with new ones to sell more toys. Soon enough, his aliens turned out to be more popular than Ben's.

[up] Now see, that would have been hilarious if they included that.

I don't think the Ben 10 show would be a hit on halloween world, as xenophobic as they are, unless they reedited it to make the show about the poor people stuck in that awful human monster and their wacky adventures as they break loose.

[up][up] Oh man, showing Rath dolls with pants would have been a good bit.

Maybe on Halloween world Ben 10 is kind of a Villain Protagonist, like a horror movie villain.

[up][up]By the way, Sunchet, there is a question I would like to ask you. You mentionned before you hated the Time-Cycles. I am not blaming you for it, of course, but out of curiosity, why exactly did you dislike them?

Sunchet Since: Oct, 2010
#3073: Apr 1st 2015 at 2:41:47 PM

First of all, they killed Proto-Truck and Tenn-Cycle and took their place. Then there fact that they're extremely obviously toyetic. From their design, the way they function to their introduction. Ben fights Time Beast whole episode, Feedback and Gravattack fail, Ben 10k and Paradox show up, finally it taken down anti-climatically by this quickly put together thing. It felt like something for previous decade's cartoon. Finally: They can travel through time. And yet, Ben uses that power twice: In final to follow Malturant and in one episode to mess with Kai.(he arrives before she can call him.) Thats it.

Wait, wait... so you mean Rook didn't re-acquire the Proto-Truck after this? Okay, aside from the fact it doesn't make sense considering he had no trouble re-acquiring it offscreen after it was devoured by Malware in Showdown, how the hell did he fight without it?!

Anyway, I see you have very good reasons to dislike it. Thank you for answering my question.

BAH! Why would he get back proto-truck? Time cycles are so much cooler, he doesn't need that old truck! Who cares that cycles can't contain more than 4 people and are terrible at transporting prisoners?
