Oh, yeah another thing I forgot to mention... why no conversation with Harbinger? I mean seriously. Unless of course, the Catalyst is Harbinger. The Refuse ending would seem to support that.

I edited my post. It might actually be present in the EC already with an extremely low EMS(I mean, honestly? I can't see what we've seen thus far equating to 2G of files. I truly think there are images and sequences that require low EMS to see)... It would definitely increase my overall opinion of the EC if it were...

You mean the one that appears at 7:40? That's just an image rather than something made in-game. And yes, at least 'twas not a crappy photoshop.

And damn it, that narration made me dislike EDI. "A new future where organics and synthetics can coexist peacefully" "I am alive" We could already coexist with synthetics, and you were already alive, damn it.

Wait, remember the deleted scene? There was a deleted scene where Harbinger kills both your squadmates. Maybe they implemented that one for the EC. In fact it would have been stupid not to.

I prefer to pretend Synthesis isn't an option at all.

I'll sure as hell never take it myself.

Besides, "I am the one helping the many" and "We will rebuild" are much better lines than "I am alive."

x4 Heck, when I first saw Harbinger blast my teammates, I thought that was exactly what happened: that Bioware had actually decided to kill them off instead of having them magically teleporting onto the Normandy. The sequences seemed to play out almost exactly the same.

Of course, I haven't seen a side-by-side comparison, so...

I just wanted a scene of Starchild screaming in pain as I blew the power conduit. His hologram simply evaporating is not enough.

One thing I don't get...

Why does the extended cut take up 1.85 gigabytes? Those scenes can't be that big.

Yeah. I expect that scene(or something similar) to appear with low EMS in the EC. I would be surprised if it wasn't. Well, not surprised... But disappointed.

That's why I say there must be low EMS videos. Everything seen thus far has been ~4k(or at least greater than 3.2k EMS) runs... There's no reason for the size of the DLC to be so big otherwise.

Low EMS video. Doesn't seem to be much difference. Doesn't show if the scene with the beam run plays out differently. I doubt it does.

The Normandy fleeing scene plays out the same as in the original ending. We get no scenes of other planets. The relay is shown blowing up even bigger than before. But we do get Hacket talking about defeating the Reapers. "We deployed every strategy, fought every battle, sent every soldier and every hero to the brink. We held nothing back."

Would it have been actually possible for them to put your Shepard's actual name on that plaque in the ending? It's just text, and it would literally be the only time in the series that it actually appeared. Dammit, his first name is Dante, not Commander!

The scene of the Crucible docking is also different with low EMS. It makes it look like an actual struggle to get it in place.

Edit: The Catalyst also states that the Crucible is damaged, and that its use will destroy the relays, creating an unpredictable and devastating chain reaction. That the ships, weapons and relays will be destroyed, and the worlds will lay in ruins. "Few organics will survive the blast. Fewer still will survive the days to come."

I assumed it just said Commander because, well, that's the first name I picked. Leaning on the Fourth Wall and all that.

That is a bit silly since, yes, it is just text.

But then, Chakwas does think using Shepard's name is disrespectful. Maybe she convinced everyone else, as well.

Also, you should be aware that we aren't actually allowed to have the word "fuck" in signatures.

I just saw someone elsewhere argue that Synthesis doesn't end the cycles. His argument was that, eventually, pure organic life would appear again, and the Synthesis'd races would show up trying to forcibly evolve them.

Probably wrong, but still an oddly amusing thought.

From now on I'm naming my Shepard Commander. Because it's canon now.

If synthesis can make leaves and Joker's hat half-robot, it can probably make amoebas or anything else that might eventually become pure organic life part machine as well.

It would still be funny if that happened, though.

That's true, I suppose. There are sure to be a lot more galaxies that weren't affected.

But I'd say anyone reaching an entirely different galaxy before galactic heat death is unlikely.

I question the idea that Synthesis is super-happy-fun-time-land due to the organic/synthetic fusion. The idea that the Yahg(or any other species that either uplifts themselves, or is uplifted) wouldn't or couldn't declare war on everything else(because they're hybridized too) is rather silly to me.
