Is Benedict Arnold a boss character?
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadHe better be.
Better yet, have him be a party member and then betray the group at a crucial moment. (History spoilers)

your strawman is noted thank you for your insight.
It's not like what you said was any better.
Anyhow, this game does peak my interest, but My computer overheats like a mofo, so adding this to it when it comes out probably isn't the best idea.
Watch SymphogearIt appears that they plan to release a demo around July 4th.
Other than that, there's a trailer.
I'm sorry I guess I'm just too stupid to understand why every bloody thing has to be anime-fied these days.
"Roll for whores."Speaking of Arnold, how about a sidequest where you help John Champe "defect" to the British side? There's so many oppertunities for cool historical tie-ins.
I really wish we could see some major releases set in interesting historical eras. I'd strangle an orphan to play a meaty RPG set in Elizabethan England or during the French Revolution.
C'mon, man! What the fu—I haven't even read that far in my American History textbook!
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadMy hand is saluting on it's own.
George III, except after defeating him you will fight the Eldritch Abomination secretly controlling the British Empire by possessing all British monarchs throughout history with mind control.
Hey, this is still a JRPG.
Eldritch Abomination controlling the British Empire? Sounds more like a Dr. Who plot than a JRPG plot.
What.
Alt account of Angeldog 2437.No, the main villain will obviously be the Evil Chancellor who gains powers from an Eldritch Abomination or makes a Deal with the Devil. Half way through the game, when it seems like you'll win the war, he disposes of the king and attacks with his army of monsters/demons. At the end you fight him and his One-Winged Angel form before taking on the source of his powers for the final boss, thereby saving the entire world from destruction.
Hey, that gives me an idea...
There seem to be some strange assumptions in this thread. As far as I can tell, it's not a game about the American revolution, it's a fantasy game set during the American revolution. The fact that the main characters are immortal should be a clue. I doubt it'll simply follow the actual historical war. Possibly some sort of hidden conspiracy type plot, letting you save the day while not actually doing anything that we'd learn about in history class.
So the setting's completely superfluous then?
"Roll for whores."Ah. Whoops, I totally misread the situation; apologies.
...no? It affects the world-building, the character classes and most likely the plot. It's just that you're not playing as Washington or his gang. You're playing as some other guy doing his own thing at the same time.

Mage types are replaced by musket men, that's a setting related thing, basically what said, but I think that's one of the more noticeable changes from your standard RPG setting.

So. Let's all pause for a moment to smell what the Rock was, is, and forever will be... cooking.—Cave JohnsonYeah, probably.
Again, these are just my impressions.
I don't expect the main plot to follow the events of the American Revolution. It's just fun to talk about things to do in an RPG set in that time.

This looks interesting, but I'm not sure my crappy old laptop will be able to handle it. I'll see if I can give it a try sometime, though.
I'm almost certain this is a sprite game. If your computer can handle a Super Nintendo emulator, it should be able to handle this.
I'm not even going to, it's now worth it.
I'm curious to see how the large scale wars end up playing like.
