@ Will Keaton : This shows lives and breathes on curbstomp against the heroes, if not shrug-stomp, or even 'I decided you'd lose, so you lost'. There is almost nobody who can't send the Turtles flying insensate.

In this show, the only thing needed for evil to triumph is that the writers deciding that evil triumphs. Within the plot, they do not have to earn it. It's cool for the heroes to take their lumps. Not so much for them to look like fools, everytime a baddie moves forward.

[up][up] It really depends on the episode and what kind of sense of humor you have, since such a thing is subjective.

Well, I think the humor has been decent, but from what I've seen in Season 3 (the first half) Mikey's jokes seem to getting less and less funny. The guy needs character growth badly.

Urgh, next episode is in July.

Though it also features the costumes from "Mazes and Mutants".

While last week's episode was good, the lack of explanation kept it from being great.

So Stockman makes a comment about how he managed to turn Karai back to a human (mostly). Okay explain? Show? Show? Can you explain? Please? How did it work? Explain? Tell? Why didn't Stockman use it on himself the moment he found out it worked? No explanation? Coherence. I want coherence.

Splinter's healing hands and his blatant favoritism towards Leo. So Splinter has a KI movie he can use that heal injuries and poisons. Show gonna explain that? Explain how it works? And why didn't he use this shit before? Going to explain why you only taught it to Leo and not your other sons? I'm sure they would to have this power. Gonna explain the blatant favoritism of Leo, show? He's my favorite turtle, but this is too much. Show explain? Explain show!

Karai somehow managing to make a sewer full of toxic. No explanation for that show? And no, show. Water cannot be absorbed through the skin. Or at least not enough in the short amount of time they were wading through it. Which means they wouldn't be poisoned. Can you explain that show! Explain! I want an explanation!

When Stockman said "turn her human", it's not as if he un-mutated her, he just found a way to restore the humanoid form as her default so she could control the snake thing. As for how he did that - no idea, and the same goes for the rest of those questions. Splinter's blatant favouritism was especially grating. Hey, remember when Raph got bitten by Xever, and that other time he got venom spat in his eyes, and the many, many other times they've been hurt one way or another? Some ninja healing magic seems like it would have come in handy.

The amount of value Splinter puts in the turtles seems to vary Depending on the Writer, yes? Considering the original Splinter was using the turtles as tools of revenge I'm never surprised when such things come up. Still... these things have never sat well with me.

"Considering the original Splinter was using the turtles as tools of revenge I'm never surprised when such things come up"

To be fair, there's an element of that in every turtles incarnation, including this one. I mean, Shredder has NO reason to come looking in the sewers for a giant rat and turtles...until the turtles invariably start messing with Shredder's operations and give themselves away by demonstrating the distinctive fighting style that allows Shredder to connect them to Hamato Yoshi.

None of that would happen if he hadn't trained them. Splinter has no reason *but* revenge to train them as ninja soldiers and outfit them with weapons, as opposed to just teaching them a few moves to protect themselves and get away from danger. Because of this they always end up drawing Shredder's attention, which begs the question if that isn't exactly what Splinter was secretly counting on.

[up]You're a martial arts master guaranteed to spend 15 years in a sewer with four children and nothing better to do. Why wouldn't he teach them? Lots of people in real life learn stuff like that without ever planning to have to use it in a life or death situation.

Plus, in most incarnations, he gets pretty upset when the turtles do anything that gives away who they are to greater public knowledge, because the whole point of ninja training is to never be seen or caught.

Leo is easily the best student among the four so it makes sense for Splinter to teach him more advanced techniques. Raph is too hotheaded, Donnie too focused on science and Mikey grows more and more immature with each incarnation of the Turtles.

With the Kraang being sent back to Dimension X and the villains part of the theme song featuring only the Foot Clan (and Newtralizer) and every episode so far has dealing with the Foot as the antagonists, it seems like Shredder's been promoted to big bad. Anybody else think so?

Also, what's stopping the Kraang from coming back?

I'm fine with the Kraang not appearing for a while, I think.

I do wonder what the time travel stuff will entail.

Jesus sounds like everything is a mess lately. Tell no showing. Random techniques. Impatient writers that waste half a season on filler.

And (he said, once more pummeling said dead equine) leave us not forget the curbstomps against the Turtles, handed out like candy. Seriously. If Brainwashed Karai were to place a mind-worm on April, suddenly she would be kicking their asses, and not in the 'holding-back-because-she's-our-friend' sort of way.

I think the show does a good job at showing how much of a threat the villains are, actually, even if it's a little bleakly executed at times. (ex. Most of the monsters in the Farm arc.)

That said, I think this Shredder is a bit too OP.

Well, San Diego Comic Con is happening and we've got some considerably big news:

Announced by the network at Comic-Con International in San Diego, David Tennant, Michael Dorn and Peter Stomrare will guest star as The Fugitoid, Lord Dregg and Captain Mozar. And while Tennant's character is traditionally an ally of Leo, Don, Raph and Mike, the latter two will no doubt make their life much more difficult.

The network's official guest star/character description is as follows:

  • David Tennant (Dr. Who) guest stars as The Fugitoid who was once an alien scientist named Dr. Honeycutt, but after his body was destroyed, his brain was saved and placed into the body of a robot.

  • Peter Stormare (Fargo) guest stars as Lord Dregg, an arrogant, insectoid crime lord. When the Turtles incur his wrath, he becomes one of their most dangerous enemies.

  • Michael Dorn (Star Trek) stars as Captain Mozar, the supreme Commander of the Triceraton Fleet. He is a cunning and brutal military commander who answers only to the Triceraton Emperor.

  • Additional guest stars debuting later this year include:
    • Lance Henriksen (Aliens) as Zog, a scout for the alien Triceraton army
    • Ron Perlman (Sons of Anarchy) as Armaggon, a vicious, bounty-hunter robo-shark with a taste for turtle;
    • and Zelda Williams (The Legend of Korra) as fan-favorite Mona Lisa, a highly skilled Salamandrian warrior.

...

Wait a minute...what was that first one?

David Tennant (Dr. Who) guest stars as The Fugitoid

...

(*RING*, *RING*, *RING*)

Um, does anybody wanna get that? Because...

I.

MOTHER.

HUGGING.

CALLED IT!!!!!

I am not kidding here. Words cannot describe how blown my mind was when I found out about this! I totally predicted that Tennant would voice Fugitoid I think like last year!

How blown away? Let's just say it was like when Mikey tried pizza for the first time. It was that blown away.

Honestly, I must be feeling what the guy who predicted that Jon Bernthal would play The Punisher was feeling!

I freaking CALLED IT!!! WOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

gringringringrin

EDIT: Here's what I was talking about. It was slightly more than a year ago that I, TargetmasterJoe, predicted that Mr. David Tennant would voice The Fugitoid. Woooo!
