True, but since this is a comic rather than the actual game, I think it illustates the trope rather well. It doesn't have to be an example so long as it's clear and all.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.I found the original comic: http://brawlinthefamily.keenspot.com/2010/04/23/238-heaven/
Turns out that we didn't take the entire comic! No rules were broken.

You're right that it's Not An Example, and in a bad way. But this one is going to be pretty difficult to picture.
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Not really. Take a game that has fake platforms, and make one shot of the hero standing on the real platform, and one of the hero falling through the identically-looking fake platform.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Keep Until Better Image Suggested on this one.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.Don't see what's not an example about it. He thinks the platform is real, it looks real, but it turns out he falls right through it. Fake Platform.

Rhymes with "Protracted."I think what they mean is that in the actual game itself, you don't fall through clouds like that. The comic is portraying something that doesn't actually happen in the game.
Reaction Image RepositoryPrecisely.
Super Mario Bros is not an example since it doesn't have fake platforms.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Even though Super Mario Bros lacks fake platforms, the comic depicts a fake platform, and gives a fairly good impression of what the trope is about.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.Yeah, I don't think that's a problem at all.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.Neither do I.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. And it is an example. From the comic. Which did not intend to accurately reflect the actual game.
If it bothers fans so much, note it in the caption.

The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.Note that the comic linked above is not the original, this is: http://brawlinthefamily.keenspot.com/2010/04/19/237-variations-on-a-vine-comic/
(Still only using 1/4 of the work, though; even less than 4/9.)
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Clock is set.

I like the current pic.

If you're worried at putting an opinion into a modhat statement, you might consider that clocking here doesn't need a mod hat.

Current image is very well. And is it really Not An Example?

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanIt's an example where it appears: In the comic.
Cloudy pic is cloudy with chances of sun.
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.Clock's up; locking for inactivity/lack of consensus. No action is to be taken based on this thread.
This is Not An Example, because in the actual game◊ Mario can walk on precisely those clouds.
More importantly, it's a whole comic, and those are not allowed per the site rules, because of copyright. So I've pulled this image◊. Suggestions for a replacement are welcome.
