Eh, the art form waxes and wanes, I'm not worried.
I feel like myself. So what if I'm drawn to animation? Deal with it.
Looking for some stories? You know someone's got a point when they start off naming tropes.
“My body is ready. I’m gonna take your names, take your ass, and then we’ll be making games”. - Reggie Fils-Aime, CEO of Nintendo AmericaI thought you said at first, "Eh, I'm more worried about taxes."
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Feels kinda like watching a lot of butthurt fanboys scream Ruined Forever every couple of days. So not much different than anything else on the internet.
Actually I feel more open to admit my love of "cartoons" today than when I was growing up. More people are willing to admit that, at the very least, its a lucrative option (box offices like Pixar's help with that) and at most, its actually art (from movies like Beauty and the Beast almost winning a Best Picture Oscar.)
@asiacatdogblue
I feel great. Today are good times for fan of animation.
Because he know I'm going to go out in this plane and I'm going to remove one of His creations from His universe.Honestly I'm more bothered by other animation fans than I am by non-fans, really.
visit my blog!Honestly? To me, I kinda GOTTA be, due to working on animation. But I find that today's fans, compared to the fans of the old (for me, 80's and 90's) complain MUCH more! And their reasons for complaining are very logical and justified- there IS A WHOLE LOT MORE to complain about, especially with the advent of instant social online networking. The only thing keeping me in is that IN THE ACT of watching or making animation, I am in bliss and can forget the bad things about the fandom.
@Moe in post #6: Love that song.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle. It feels okay I guess? I don't wake up every morning to see CERTAIN SHOW, but I don't feel much differently towards animation than I did as a child. There's some shows I hate and others I like...There's more of those most recently than there were a while ago. When Chowder still lived. I...wasn't a fan of chowder.
Cartoon Network's current line up is rather amusing though and I'm eagerly anticipating The Legend of Korra.
If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahOne cartoon I've really been into lately is Regular Show. And yeah, definitely looking forward to Korra.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Korra can be the reason I will watch Nick again after 3 years.
Yeah.
I don't love animation as a means of being accepted by others; I love animation because I love animation.
Animation is just great. When you're a kid, you're just in it for the entertainment, but still curious about the boundaries. As an adult, you see the artistic value, the writing, the plot, and how so many things come together. Animation to me, is driven by creators and visions. It starts from a pencil, computer, camera, etc. It doesn't have to defined as "cartoony". It can be what it wants.
Watching Gargoyles, Ducktales, Young Justice, and some others.
I treat all living things equally. That is to say, I eat all living thingsI love animation because....because VIVA ANIMATION!

The **** did I just watch?
You watched drugs.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Or anime.
'Same thing.
It's Excel Saga, one of the fastest-working drugs.
That director seems to make a LOT of cracky anime, doesn't he???
Sorry but BUMP
What in the world? There's no initiation or qualifications to become a fan of animation. Just, I don't know, like animation and cartoons!
when did discussing or liking cartoons become so frustrating lol
Supports cartoons being cartoony! The OP was asking people how it felt to be an animation fan.
Looking for some stories?
Animation Age Ghetto, Shows that are Lost Forever due to legal reasons of no care at all from the big wigs, crappy adaptations of animated shows, Network Decay, and more favoring of Live-Action...
Definitely not the same it was back then.
How does it feel to be an animation fan?
Yep, I'm still here.
