Why would Carl want to attack him? Since moving to Portland would presumably protect the conspiracy, anything that would delay the move would seem counterproductive for Carl.
The whole "these birds have flown" - an attack was already on its way, etc... That, or he'll still want to clean up anyway... Or maybe Michael will just find something to make him stay.
Anyway, rule of drama and rule of budget make me think he'll stay.
Change, my dear, and not a moment too soon.Awake's been cancelled. Shame, this week's episode was another great episode.
Hopefully the next two episodes can give the series a satisfying enough conclusion.
@ Shadow Scythe: recommend me some episodes?
This post has been powered by avenging fury and a balanced diet.Watch the first episode and Episode 6 (That's Not my Penguin). This week's relies on some serialisation previous episodes have setup. By skipping to ep 6 you'd miss out on one major plot element (but I'm pretty sure it'd already be explained to you so it wouldn't matter) but this week's episode relies on you having watched the whole series (that said the rest of the series has been fairly bland but there is still some background plot elements that do need build up).
I'd say eps 3-5 and episode 8 are easily skippable even if there's a few things to like in there.
So... The finale. This interview does a pretty good job of explaining it. (Obviously don't read it until you've seen the episode!)
The finale was pretty trippy and I'd say a fairly satisfying ending to the series. I hope Killen goes to cable now and makes a show that'll actually last more than one season without the need to dumb down to an audience it'll never get.
As I understand it, the ending is: Whichever world was real doesn't really matter. In one world he failed to stop the conspiracy and in the other he succeeded but either way he felt unsatisfied so he created a third world where he has both of his loved ones. Basically he's just spiralling further and further away from reality because it isn't meeting his expectations.
That would've been a great setup for a potential season 2 where he'd need to break from the third world just to get back to the original setup which would've been a step up for him And it's a shame we'd never see that play out. But as it stands the series finale is trippy and dark and understands that the mystery is more interesting than the solution and so for that I think it was a pretty good show and I don't regret following it to the end.
He's probably gonna be forced to stay after surviving an attack by Carl's goons, which will make him want to investigate even more... Plus, if he moved, that'd mean new actors, new settings... not quite sure they'd be able to do that on their budget
