Except Arkham Asylum, nobody could crack that game, oh and Resident Evil 5, oh and most Window Live games
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Xan-Xan/Anyway, that video showing off the game's procedural engine amped up my interest by a factor of 50.
Jonah FalconIt's not piracy if I PAY for it! If there's an EA branch over here, I'll surely be able to buy it under the price of 3 hamburgers. Otherwise, don't throw that shit around my face

Congrats EA. You successfully made me not want to get a Sim City game.
I agree, that's totally unecessary. As it stands a lot of Sim City players don't care about multiplayer, and requiring a connection at all times sounds a hell of a lot like Ubisoft's DRM.
And Ubisoft already starts to backpedal on the always-on already...these guys are going backwards...
Really though, the only way you can prevent piracy is to make the game cloud-only...like have the game available only on On Live...

Give me cute or give me...something?the worst part is knowing ea, the second they release simcity 6, theyll pull the plug on the simcity5 servers.
Now let's see what excuses does JAF have about this. We support the makers, they dick us around. In the name of countering piracy, they make restrictions that push more people into the path of piracy.
I'm always the type to 'pay whenever possible and accurately' , but it seems like this one will be hard on me
What profit is it to a man, when he gains his money, but loses his internet? Anonymous 16:26 I believe...Somebody really needs to make it clear to EA (and Maxis, to an extent) that the best way to handle this is to use all the extra goodies you get for being online as an incentive to connect with Origin, not force it upon the players. They're just going to end up losing sales that way, mine included as of now.
Honestly, given EA's track record of shutting off older games to promote upgrading to the newer versions, only an idiot would believe they wouldnt pull the same with always online games.
"Extra goodies"? How about "connect to the multiplayer, because otherwise you won't be able to trade with other cities"?
All the finesse of a rusty shovel, but at least it's... something.
"what the complete, unabridged, 4k ultra HD fuck with bonus features" - Mark Von LewisI couldn't care less about "Sharing" with other cities. Stuff like good day-1 DLC on the other hand, now that tends to work on me.
Having to have an internet connection to play this won't be a deal-breaker with me - I play something like 95-percent on-line anyway. It would be nice if it was mostly transparent, though. I hate jumping through hoops to get into a game.
Happiness is zero-gee with a sinus cold.Wow, they're really putting the "Sim" back in Sim City.
Wow, they really are thinking this one through, aren't they? What's next, global warming causing the sea level to rise in game if the pollution gets too high?
Woah! That's pretty sweet. This game is loooooong overdue.
Never tell your problems to anyone...20% don't care and the other 80% are glad you have them.Maybe if your Region is heavily polluted. I liked the regions and zones thing.
Happiness is zero-gee with a sinus cold.It would've been more interesting if wind direction and strength as well as dryness had more to do with how a fire spreads instead of proximity or radius, then it would've been closer to how real fires work.
Sure ain't gonna be easy "winning" in this game though... if there even is a win condition.
Dunno if these videos imply that it's going to be difficult...so far the moral seems to be "Don't be stupid enough to build water pumps near heavy polluting industry" and "Build fire stations, dumbass".
Those were the basic lessons you learned in 4, too. If pollution got really bad, you either enacted Clean Air Act, bulldozed dirty industry, got a purification plant up, or simply dealt with your city looking like The Pitt. Fire protection was just as vital then, as well. It only took one fire in Startertown for you to realize how useful they were.
Happiness is zero-gee with a sinus cold.
I always tough DRM was mainly to prevent used sales instead of piracy, companies must know that you can't fight piracy with that since pirates ALWAYS find a way to crack something but DRM does cause some setbacks mainly to used sales(wich is why most DR Ms nowadays try to make you have an account with all your games so you can't just easily sell one). But I don't know , I might be typing a whole lot of BS. But one thing we know is that these companies will always try to make more money since they ARE companies after all so I doubt they wouldn't try to attack used game sales if there was no piracy.
Anyway about that last video posted here, OMG *_* , please take my money EA, the only thing I'm worried about now is that the game seems "smaller" than other games, if you make a giant metropolis it'll probably look less impressive than one made on SC 4 or even 3000 but there's no way to know that by now.
:)
