Sorry if this has been posted before. And I seem to remember I'm the one who created 999's topic as well.

Oh, so it's coming out to the 3DS as well?

That's good.

I never understood why they need to have a separate board for VN's anyway.

Aren't they also separate on the main listing too? It would be nice to increase the chances of me actually having Corpse Party discussion though.

Note that Aksys has confirmed Dual-Language Support! Stay classy Aksys.

Now that I think about it, I don't think I beat 999.

Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward.

Virtue's Last Reward, eh?

That's... ominous.

Recall that the Japanese title is "Extreme Escape Adventure: Good People Die".

It sounds like Virtue's Last Reward is death.

Virtue's Last Reward, huh? Not a bad title, but I'm waaay too used to calling it Good People Die. Also, it doesn't have the same sort of rhythmic flow to it Nine Hours Nine Persons Nine Doors did.

There's still nine people and it's still the Nonary Game, so they probably could have gotten away with the 999 supertitle... :P

Anyway, I am excite!

Plot speculation begins now!

I think the new Zero is Junpei from the first game. After trying and failing to find Akane after her disappearance, he rounds up 9 people, including Clover, who may or may not have known her in an attempt to make contact with her.

I like the new name.

I remember reading that 善人シボウデス is supposed to be a play on words - the obvious meaning is "Good People Die," but シボウ can be read as 志望 ("wish") instead of 死亡 ("death") - that is, "I Wish for Good People." Virtue's Last Reward does pretty much the same thing: "last reward" smacks of a euphemism for "death," but it can also be taken literally - that is, "good triumphs in the end."

So either way, it's either cynical or optimistic depending on how you read it. :3

Also, "Zero Escape" can either be a pessimistic "there is no way out", or literally "Escaping from Zero".

I don't know where Game FA Qs got it, but they've got a "Zero Escape" logo up, with the familiar gas mask depicted in all its Sawtastic g(l)ory.

Since they're retroactively making 999 a Zero Escape title, do you think this might mean there'll be a reprint soon?

I'm interested, but I don't have a Vita and the European release only has Japanese voice acting.

So that's like a double failure right there. :'(

Estimated shipping time: 2-4 weeks.

Vita is region free though, right? So they could just import the US version.

I just got my 3DS today, so this is now officially a day-one purchase for me.

Also, the OVA was released in English! Maybe a less lazy person will link to it.

Here ya go.

Note, there's a flub in there, choosing betray when they choose ally gets you three points, not two.

Dunno if it counts for anything or not, but if you haven't beaten the first game yet, DON'T watch the OVA. There's kind of a serious spoiler for the first game in it. Although I don't know how much the other promo info is using that spoiler.

Okay, so it's been released and the info we've been waiting for is finally here. No, not whether it's good, we all knew it was. The real question on everyone's mind is if the sex jokes are still great.

Yes.
