Wow, that's pretty good. It's even got the worn out paint and graffiti showing you how long it's been.

It would feel wrong to voice my personal opinion in Mod Mode, so a new post it is!

I'd love to have a pair of images from the Nostalgia Level in Metal Gear Solid 4. It would be awesome.

That said, I don't think I know where to look for good images of either game, nor do I at the moment have the time to make it. (It'd have to wait 'till tomorrow.)

If someone else could make one and have it in the crowner, I think it could be great.

The Dreamfall/Longest Journey one really isn't too different. Shrunk like that it's hard to tell that the graphics are really different. It just looks like different times of the day.

Perhaps a horizontal arrangement of the Dreamfall image might be better? If it can be made large enough it would make a very good picture, I think, being clear to the eye and having what I feel to be a good balance of similarity and contrast in graphical style, quality and camera angle.

I think the scenes look too similar and that, not knowing the games, one would normally come to the conclusion that they're from the same game, especially if they take only a brief look at it.

Hmm - perhaps. I do note the presence of a new lamp-post in the latter image, although I'll admit that I didn't notice the discrepancy at first.

Nevertheless, let me offer a larger version of the Dreamfall comparison, converted to .jpg:

Potential caption: "Sometimes nostalgia is bittersweet."

No, it took me like 15 seconds to spot enough clues that they're probably not the same game, and I'm still not sure.

A picture on an article should be very clear right off the bat without reading anything more than the title of the article. I don't think this pair does it.

It's been three days and we've got an overwhelming consensus for the leader, so I'm calling this one. Caption or no?

Super Smash Bros. recreates the first part of the first NES game.

Honestly, this is one of those few times where I don't think this one needs a caption.

Agreeing with Shadow Hog that it doesn't really need a caption.

Thinking about it, though, if we do go with a caption, a somewhat dry but informative one is pretty much the only way to go.

"Super Mario Bros vs. Super Smash Bros. Brawl"

I think the caption should simply list the names of both games (and possibly their release date).

I also think somebody should copy/paste a sprite of old Mario into the top screenshot, in roughly the same place as the new Mario in the bottom.

Man, this should've been wrapped a long time back. Since there wasn't a consensus on a caption, let's just roll with it as is. Locking up.
