i wish they include a nice little quality of life improvement in the next update where they add a quest marker that points you in the direction of all the gear you lost from dying
also nice would be the ability to teleport to a specific point on the surface of your choosing, instead of always teleporting to the exact same point
it makes actually venturing too far in either direction for caverns n shit to be complete folly because if you die, you'll have to spend 5-10 minutes travelling to get get to the entry point of the cavenr you died in (while close to the core), all while dealing with the absurd spawn rate (and shit vision of nighttime because ITS ALWAYS nighttime goddamn)
survival mode was the worst thing i could have picked goddamn
its awful

Use the racial flags. Once placed, all you need to do is set up a bookmark with them, and whenever you use the teleporter on your starship afterwards you'll see the bookmarked name appear as a possible teleport destination. MUCH more cheaper than the proper teleporters too, it just requires a lot of fabric.

Ah, I accidentally sold my only melee weapon...
At least I still have a gun... but I wonder what'll happen if I don't actually have any weapons, how am I gonna get one... Tungsten Bow stuff to death...
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes! What's your technology level? You will be able to craft melee weapons. At least melee weapons are in abundance down in underground chests.
Wait that was your only melee weapon? Then it means you no longer have the broken broadsword one way or the other. Rip in pepperoni Infinity +1 Sword.
I can steal one from any new character anyway, I just need to visit their planets.
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes! You can craft weapons at an Anvil.
The trope page dramatically needs an overhaul to reflect 1.0 and not the games various states of beta.
Am I the only one who has gotten really goddamn sidetracked with the whole tenants thing? I have a sizeable town already, they multiply faster than some insects do.
x3 Well, was referring to the Broken Sword from the tutorial, in particular.
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!Just noticed that the Spike Ball upgrade for Distortion Sphere breaks a few of the bosses. In particular are Shockhopper MKI (flamethrower and charge and fist can't hit you, easier to avoid the spray attack when on the wall) and Big Ape (staying on the wall in ball form at the vertical level of his "eyes" will avoid the bullet hell, and it easily cheeses his orbiting projectors attack if you stay at the bottom right/left in ball form)
Also, other food for thought SPOILERS

...ehehits a shame the waterball upgrade isnt more useful
since you automatically float to the surface its a quick exit, and you can move sideways fairly quickly, but you cant jump, and you still cant travel fast on the bottom of the ocean because you'll just float.
in fact, its the already absurdly useful spikeball upgrade that gets me through the ocean fastest.
Just saw reviews. IGN gave it 9.1... I'd personally give it 8 or so. Lots of stuff got cut out including Rubium, Ceruleum, and Impervium, Jelly boss, Tentacomet boss, Heck and Zen Biomes, Nanostove and Portable Pixel Printer, many of the codexes, and the different back stories for each character.
But at the same time there's lots of new and awesome bosses (personally loved the fight against Big Ape) and proper storyline progression while removing some of the annoying quests, that and teleporters and flags make things easy too.
All in all I approve of some changes from the beta but not others.
...ehehrubium, ceruleum and impervium...the ores? they're still in.
i spent 2 hours collecting em last night.
For those still having FPS issues go into the steam workshop and look up the FPS mods. For many they have helped improve FPS. Paired with turning off V Sync it seems to help notably.
Who watches the watchmen? It's only Aegisalt, Ferozium and Violium actually. Rubium, Ceruleum and Impervium got taken out. =/
I still think they might be added in for tier 7 though. After all, there are some loose ends SPOILERS .

...ehehI need that pixel storing thing so fucking bad, I swear I've lost 4/5ths of the money I've made.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984Rotpar: There are mods or the pixel compressor.
Who watches the watchmen?whelp. after having gotten back all my stuff from the ludicrously-large-frigid-ocean-planet-with-large-caverns-full-of-unaccountably-accurate-venom-spitting-monsters
i decided im done with survival mode. wrote down the coordinates to my hylotl mansion and dumped every last thing i had of value there, wasted all my fuel getting to a volcanic planet on the otherside of the universe, beamed down naked and promptly went down in fiery flames.
whelp. least my character went out like a champ. a naked, burning champ.
new character time~
I know, just need the materials to build the thing.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984How would mansion inheritance work though? You just place a deed from the new character?
EDIT: fixed, I didn't realize there was real estate

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!Malco: That is the point of saving the coordinates for that particular world.
Who watches the watchmen?huh. main quest reset, but the outpost is the same state my previous character left it in.
neru already there and the treasure vendor spawned at some point
Well I knew using the coordinates works, but what I meant was using the exact same deed?
Which I actually answered my question this weekend, suppose does work, since I already flew my old character to my new character's original planet (500 FUEL OMG - screw you moon ghosts!), used the Avian Flag even if old character was a Novakid, and accessed the new character's deed to a Floran house.
I went to an Ocean Planet and can't find a Hylotl "base"! Is it on the ocean floor or on one of the islands? (Also, can Hylotl breathe in water? Anyone tried this?)
Finally, the Metroid theme plays in my head everytime i use the morph ball.

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes! They're on the ocean floor. Yep it's an awesome Underwater City. =)
...eheh
A fair point on the inventory - Terraria's inventory wasn't as large, and at least Starbound TRIED to give a bare-bones tutorial.
EDIT: Bah, page topper!
