The trope title implies that this only applies to superheroes when neither the description nor the Laconic imply that. This has led to at least one misunderstanding. [1] "Batman" should be dropped from the title to prevent future misunderstandings.

No confusion is illustrated in that thread.

Yes there is. The poster said that the trope is mostly about heroes/superheroes when that is not the case. The trope is about breathing in space period. For anybody.

The underlying trope is about Space Is Air.

Besides, nobody should be naming non-Batman tropes after the goddamn Batman. Want to bet how many inbounds might be due to the "batman" and not the "breathing in space" part? I wish we could prove that.

[up][up] Mostly is not exclusively.

Yes, it applies to anyone. what characters are most likely to be wandering around in space? Superheroes with flight always show up there at some point in their career. Confusion has not been illustrated.

It is not mostly OR exclusively. And superheroes are not the most likely characters to go into space. Plenty of non-superhero characters go into space and breathe just fine.

You're saying that calling it "mostly superheroes" represents confusion over what the trope is. The posters in that thread have not misread anything from the trope page itself.

The vast majority of examples are of someone "somehow able to leave the atmosphere under [their] own power." You have not supported any contention that people unable to leave the atmosphere without help are more likely to use this trope than those who do. To call people who can travel to outer space without a rocket isn't even misuse of Superhero worse than calling Batman a superhero.

I'm hollering for a lock because the OP does not prove misuse.

Yes I have. The trope is about breathing in space. It is not about primarily/mostly/etc. superheroes breathing in space. The post I linked to proves that at least one person thinks the trope is narrower than it is. The page needs to be renamed to prevent future mistakes such as that.

Evidence of misuse? Might want to add wick check to OP before this gets locked for not following the new rules on rename threads.

One other person being confused as to the definition is not evidence of misuse.

The name isn't Superheroes Can Breathe In Space. "Batman" isn't the same as "Superhero". In fact, he explicitly doesn't have any superpowers.

TRS threads are required to give evidence that the trope is broken. If you don't have a specific problem to show us, there's not much here for us to discuss.

Rhymes with "Protracted."

Kaiser, you need to show more evidence of misuse or confusion. As you admit on the OP, there was one person who misunderstood it. As Martello pointed out, one person is not sufficient evidence. Do a wick check.

Locking the thread for being started without support for the contention that there is confusion or misuse.
