And now, for no real good reason, I have the idea of a Pokemon MOBA stuck in my head.

And how. Pokemon is probably one of the most complex competitive games out there. The game has a lot of depth for the fact that it caters both to casual gamers who just want a fun game and don't want to have to learn anything more complicated than Elemental Rock-Paper-Scissors, yet also to the "hardcore" gamer crowd who want to break out spreadsheets and spend hours min/maxing stats and calculating optimal team designs.

As a result, the metagame community is not unlike that of tabletop games like Magic The Gathering, Warhammer, or Dungeons And Dragons. Easy to play, difficult to master, and a lot you need to learn before you even think about entering a tournament unless you just want your face smashed a lot.

I mean, I don't think they actually have D&D tournaments but you get what I mean.

Yeah I gotta admit, I was super impressed by Jim's string of euphemisms. Yeah, the double standard is a thing, and Jim came up with a pretty good explanation of why that is. I really don't have anything to add on that front.

Incidentally, I gotta admit, I like naked women as much as the next person, but I gotta agree with Jim: the context that it appears in the game makes it decidedly not-sexy. Even the image he put up made me a little physically...let's say nauseous?

I also gotta agree with Jim that Sony banning a user for posting something that's in the official product is really fucked-up. That's like putting your stamp behind God of War and then objecting when someone presents evidence of the sex scenes. Or you know, being Marvel Comics at all. *cough*

And yeah, Jim just HAD to go there with the Boglin. Oh boy.

Well, the context is simply that it exists on the character model. That blowing up a woman with a rocket launcher was how a user found it doesn't mean it's, like, an easter egg to blow her up or something. The vag doesn't spontaneously appear when a rocket hits her face. It's just not usually visible.

That said, I actually like that non-sexy nudity is appearing more and more in games. It actually justifies the term "Mature" when games remember that boobs and genitalia don't exist purely for titillation. Everyone has them. They just pop into existence for sexytimes and then vanish into the ether from whence they came.

For instance, L.A. Noire had homicide cases where you have to examine a corpse for evidence. The bodies were stripped and you were checking the damage done to the body for clues as to the circumstances that transpired. It was about the least sexy context in which nudity could be present in the game. But it fit.

I found this fellow named Micah Curtis and he had some *ahem* strong words for Jim.

He also did a rant thing for Bob "MovieBob" Chipman.

Just out of complete curiosity, how credible is this Micah Curtis fellow?

Because very recently Bob did a pretty moving speech about the whole Trump for President thing, and the stuff that Jim has pointed out regarding Konami is still pretty nasty. And I haven't seen too much word from Mr. Curtis regarding Trump for President or Konami, soooooooo...

I just rolled my eyes throughout the whole video. Does nothing but make fun of Jim's weight and constantly calls him "stupid" and a "moron" while also bashing him for stupid things he said years ago that he did a 180 on and regrets saying it back then. Reading the comments (yeah, I know) most of it was filled with that guy's fans just echo chambering him and saying how much Jim and his fans are fat cunts. One even took Jim's exaggerated persona and his "thank god for me" catchphrase completely straight and serious. Another claims Jim is whoring himself out for ad revenue (LOL), despite the fact that he doesn't show ads at all.

It's basically Digital Homicide light: claim the person you're criticizing is "cherry picking" and using "strawman fallacies" when you yourself are doing the same thing. Claims Jim is whoring for attention when the pot is calling the kettle black.

People in the comments also pointed out that the video maker isn't exactly slim and toned himself, which means it doesn't really look good when he makes fun of Sterling for being overweight.

That too. Has to be some sort of joke we were not told because you don't criticize someone for being fat when you're nearly as fat as the person you're making fun of.

At least Jim doesn't resort to calling people morons or the like unless they're REALLY acting like one.

Well, Mr. Curtis, you obviously have your own little views of the world, but you know what?

In light of Trump becoming president, Bob Chipman, a man you called a Nazi and a moron, told everyone to keep fighting against anything Trump tries to push out in the future. Would an actual Nazi moron really tell a nation to defend themselves against a man who probably shouldn't have any place as President?

And for quite some time now, Jim Sterling, a man you also claim to be a moron, has been doing a jeering campaign towards a video game company that, quite frankly, deserves all the jeering and hatred it's been getting lately and will continue to get until the heads either clean up their act or go away from the video gaming community forever.

These guys have been doing some awesomely bold things as of late. What have YOU been doing lately regarding President Trump and Konazi?

Can't believe it's been 2 years since Jim went independent. I remember not liking him at first, but he grew on me.

Same here. While I liked his rants and insight into the video game industry, his humor didn't quite click with me at first. It wasn't until I listened to an episode of Podquisition on a whim that I started to truly become a fan of his.

On the subject of this Curtis guy, one of his other videos appears to be titled "SJWs vs. Creativity." And anyone who unironically uses the term "SJW" is someone I feel pretty confident ignoring forever.

There seems to be some sort of perception of so-called SJWs as people who hate art and who want everything to be as bland and inoffensive as possible. But I think about some of the works that are associated with them, and I think of things like Steven Universe, BoJack Horseman, Undertale, My Little Pony, Life is Strange, Hamilton, and so on and so-forth. A lot of works made by progressive folks tend to be inventive, engaging, and surprising. I don't see any of the jackasses at Breitbart doing anything creative of worth. Best I got was someone who wrote novelty lyrics to the tune of "Under the Sea." And his lyrics sucked.

They want their "art" as lowbrow and coarse as possible, because it makes them feel tuff and mwayunleh. In other words, the usual projection of their deep-rooted neckbeard inferiority complex.

Nintendo has gone to ship. <groan>

Jim pretty much echoed my frustrations with Nintendo over the NES Classic. I'm still going to get my mitts on one if I can, but now I know to never expect anything hot from Nintendo to be in reasonable supply. Nintendo is good, but this is not and needs to fucking stop.

Someone compared them to Konami, wondering if they're both in the same bizarro universe where only their own logic makes sense.
