No Mutants Allowed donated a lot of money, so they will appear in Wasteland 2
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Xan-Xan/^They raised the money, same with the codex (who are getting a ruined shrine dedicated to them). Considering a lot of these guys threw in hundreds of dollars towards the game and have done quite a lot to raise awareness of it I think they earned it. Besides, NMA isn't that bad, they just hate Fallout 3 and to be fair so do many of us here.
Mukora:JRP Gs have a very different UI setup. I think it could work if the devs just emulated that UI but put in an AP bar instead of just giving the character one chance to move, one chance to attack etc. But it's extra work with a minimal budget that could be better spent on improving the gameplay. This game doesn't seem like it'd be that graphically intensive either so most P Cs should be able to run this.
Plus I hear Microsoft are a bunch of dickwads when it comes to XBLA certification and stuff. So that's extra drama towards a console audience who probably don't even care for this genre.

Like I said, I understand that it's necessary to focus on the core PC audience right now. But I don't see why, should they get the chance at a later date, porting to PS 3 would be so terrible.

The Codex too???, man....
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Xan-Xan/Probably, I shouldn't even care since I can't access the internet (and with that PSN) with my PS 3 anyway. Still, I think it's sad that there there won't be console ports. I think they would benefit if they get some "oldschool" WRPGs instead of only dumbed down stuff. I'm sure there are ways to do this without making stupid compromises. Generally, dumbing down stuff, so it "fits" to consoles, is just the result of developers who don't really know what they are doing or are too lazy/stupid to really think of ways to make it fit.
Hell, I'd be fine with just converting mouse controls to thumbstick. That really shouldn't be much of a problem, especially since it's a turn-based game.
People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.New update, including this video:
So I guess there'll be an optional Dark Souls-esque multiplayer component. Interesting.

Support Gravitaz on Kickstarter! It's not like the NMA bar is going to be full of NP Cs named after NMA users, it's just going to be a bar called "No Mutants Allowed." The option for those who put up money to get an NPC in the game can put them in the bar, of course.
It's not a big thing like parading Jessica Chobot around as a virtual avatar.
GloveAndBoots is good for Blog! And really, a bar called No Mutants Allowed fits even ignoring the website's existence.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."What about the ruined shrine of RPG Codex???
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Xan-Xan/What about it? It's still being done by Fargo and his team, so I'm sure they'll work it into the game coherently. The Codex donated over 10,000 dollars, they deserve it. The money they put up will make Wasteland 2 a better game.

Like others have said, if such a complex game as Final Fantasy Tactics can be done on the tech of something like the original Ps One, which compared to that in the PS 3 looks like that of the Wright Flyer as against that of the X15, then Wasteland 2 should be able to be done quite well on the XBLA and PSN.
No need, the game is aimed at PC gamers. They know their audience and they're sticking to it.
Well, for me, that there is no need to do it is precisely why it should be done. I can appreciate that the PC, for once in modern games, is the lead format, but when that version is out, done and patched, the poor benighted heathens () on the PSN and XBLA should get a shot at it. ( Note, I own both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 consoles, so I am not exhibiting PC Master Race bias, I am merely poking fun when I call them benighted heathens.)
It's probably more drama than it's worth. If publishers are right and Turn based strategy RP Gs have a minimal audience on consoles then why waste the time and money.
Nowadays, they don't have much of an audience on PC either.
That's also why I don't think that Wasteland 2 will bring a "renaissance" of turn-based isometric RPGs, as some people seem to hope. It's a niche game and while it's possible for such games to have a lot of success, it's very unlikely.
People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.Eh. I wouldn't call it any more of a niche genre than, say, platformers or strategy games.
I mean, yes, there's less of an audience for it than FP Ss and JRP Gs- the video game industry's powerhouse genres- but there are still plenty of people that'll play them.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Adventure games haven't been very popular commercially lately. Look at the Double Fine kickstarter. Would that have been necessary if adventure games were seriously being considered by mainstream publishers? Even if helmed by Tim Schafer?
The whole point of this exercise is not to "create a new age" for an older style of gaming, it's to make a game that some people want to make, that some people want to play.
It's that middle-ground in the video game business.
GloveAndBoots is good for Blog!In that sense, it's like of like a bunch of people commissioning a game.
Fargo is probably waiting for the game to release, then tell Sony and Microsoft, "Either of you want exclusivity?"
Jonah FalconWhich they would be idiots not to fight for. One of the most successful projects in Kickstarter history, unless I am much mistaken. And if if is good as all us funders hope it is, the word of mouth will be deafening in Sony Towers/Fortress Microsoft.
Quite informative, thanks. Wonder how he feels knowing it isn't just guys and gals who played the old game that are funding his new one?
I posted that interview in its own thread because it goes far beyond Wasteland.
