The textures need more details?

They look pretty damn detailed to me. Especially for an isometric game.

It actually has a sort of watercolour painting feel to me. I like that a lot.

I've just been spoilt by WL 2 fan art like this◊ and indie RP Gs like Age of Decadence◊.

Considering Age of Decadence crashed every single time I tried the beta, I'd rather Wasteland 2 wasn't like that.

I feel bad about saying this but I'm surprised that no one's knocking it for not being 2D with a parser (as far as I can see).

Graphics aren't a big deal to me, though. Content is more important.

That's because you haven't seen the light.

Anything that doesn't feel like it was made before 1998 is terrible, and a crime against humanity.

The 1998 thing is a bit of a strawman but I never fully understood the Anti 3 D movement. Yeah Arcanum's detailed sprites and beautiful backgrounds look a lot prettier than something like Neverwinter Nights 2 and certainly has much more detail in it- not to mention a better camera but that doesn't mean 3D is inherently bad for isometric games.

WL 2 being 3D makes more sense resourcewise- there aren't many ready made 2D engines. And I don't think being 3D automatically means terrible cameras and crappy textures, we've come a long way since early 3D games and stuff like Ao D shows you can make a great looking 3D isometric game with minimal resources.

I don't care what the other portraits look like, my party leader is definitely using that one.

Fargo has said you can import your own portraits into the game to add to the possible customisation but when the official ones look this good I'm not sure I'd want to use anything else.

I can honestly say my slight interest has turned into a huge interest. I can say that with art like that, I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes.

Even though I haven't played the original game (Or any of the Fallout series, for the matter.) I'm still really looking forward to this for some reason.

Mostly because the art they've posted of it so far is pretty freaking cool.
