I'm pretty excited about this Finnish-German-Australian sci-fi comedy about Nazis on the Moon. The trailer was just released and I think it looks great.

This is the new movie from the makers of Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning, but this time they have professional actors and writers and a budget of 7.5 million euros (not much on Hollywood scale but more than any other Finnish film so far).

I can't decide which is more evil, the space Nazis or President "Palin."

Every self-respecting geek should watch Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning.

Every self-respecting person should watch Iron Sky when it comes out.

^^Huh, first one gives it good review in b-movie sort of way, second one is mixed and third one gives bad review and has ton of complaining in comment section.

I can't tell whether this movie is hyped or not since its not that long time ago I heard about it .-.

This premiered in Finland today. My review.

I highly recommend it. It's a load of fun.

It reached number 10 in the UK charts. It doesn't sound great until you realise that it was scheduled to have a release for only a single day.

However demand forced some places to hold it open with every showing packed to the brim.

Just saw it and I have to say, I enjoyed it for what its worth. Its funny (though I have to say its more of a hit-and-miss thing), and has decent acting. but I would have to say it is the costumes and visuals that really impressed me.

Also, the Downfall Shout-Out was nice but...doesn't seemed to hit the mark.

What was the Downfall shout out? I've seen Downfall, I was looking out for it, yet I still managed to miss it.

I got the Dr. Strangelove one though which segues nicely into my next point. The funniest moments were during the UN Council which was reminiscent of the Strangelove war council.

President Not-Palin was fine. Palinesque in her mannerisms but ultimately not a Palin joke. She's an "American Politician" joke but they all deserve it.

[up]It was during the beginning when Vivian chews her crew out for incompetence. She was parodying the Hitler rant.

Frankly kinda forced.

Loved the war room scene though. Genuinely laughed at it because of its sheer absurdity.

The Hitler rant was probably the most egregious*

example of the consequences of the film's production time. The meme probably wouldn't have felt quite as overplayed five years ago.

[up]I concur, for something that is apparently a satire of American politics, they are sure missing something. but then again, the entire movie's premise is Moon Nazis with flying saucers invading the world (mostly US) rather than a direct parody.
