I did. I have no idea what Adrianza and Broadway are doing on a major league roster. Absolutely pathetic performance from both of them.
I don't know; Broadway was pretty good for us.
Also, who says the Dodgers' front office doesn't value team chemistry?
World Whosball Champion 1945-1991Jesus Christ, I knew the Pirates were bad against the Reds and Brewers, but not 10-17 bad. For comparison, they're 11-14 against the Cards and Cubs, 15-1 against the Giants, Dodgers, and Mets, and 43-20 against everyone else, with the only non-NL Central teams they have a losing record against being the Nationals and Royals.
World Whosball Champion 1945-1991The Marlins just went 12 pitches in their final at bat. Bottom of the 9th, tie game, bases loaded. Martin Prado finally makes a sacrifice fly to left field to drive in the winning RBI. On the 12th pitch. Jesus.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.STL just lost two series in a row for the first time this season.
World Whosball Champion 1945-1991I'm sure none of you saw this coming, but Phillies are the first team to be mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. Guess the Braves are trying not to be too obvious with the tanking.
World Whosball Champion 1945-1991The Jays have opened up a 4.5 gap in the AL East, taking the first 3 games of a 4 game series in New York.
The Yankees played particularly weak ball in today's double header, though the Jays may have lost Tulowitzki for the season to a cracked shoulder blade. Hardly the worst player to lose, but not good.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.I had thought that the Cardinals had a hard lock on the NL Central title, but it looks like they are starting to fall apart. (They're 4-8 in their last 12 games, and the Pirates have pulled up to 2.5 games back.)
It looks like it could come down to the next-to-last series of the season against the Pirates.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Calling it now:
Pirates win it all.
I get the sense that either way, that first divisional round is going to boil down to the Cardinals and Pirates. I can't lie that the prospect of meaningful playoff games between the Cards and Cubs is pretty exciting though, although naturally I'm hoping for a best of five series between them instead of a single wild card game.
Meanwhile, the Twins remain one game out of that final AL wild card spot behind the Rangers. I doubt they beat the Yankees, especially not on the road, but I do hope they manage to sneak in there.
Nats are in full-blown breakdown mode

Now they're choking literally and metaphorically!
Forward, boys! For God's sake, forward!I am tempted to cheer for the Cubs in the playoffs, just because I want the movie Back to the Future Part II to be bizarrely prophetic. (Hey, we already had a hoverboard debut earlier this year, so...)
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Can't happen unless the Marlins make it, sadly, which ain't happening at this point.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.Couldn't happen anyway, due to the fact that Marlins and Cubs are NL. I'll take what I can get, though.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)I'm rooting for the Jays, though I wouldn't be mortified if the Cubs win.
As long as KC goes down, I'm happy though.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects. For that matter, the dialogue in the movie implies that the World Series is now nine games.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.Assuming the Twins don't make it (which hey, they're not out yet, they still could), even as a Cardinals fan I think I'd pull for the Cubs or Pirates if they managed to beat the Cards in the divisional round. As good as the NL Central has been this year, it would seem weird if a team from the division did not represent the NL in the World Series.

Plus I'd really love to see the Cubs break their World Series drought - and for Steve Bartman to be there watching them.
And regular season over! Playoff teams are:
- NL East: Mets
- NL Central: Cardinals
- NL West: Dodgers
- NL Wild Cards: Pirates, Cubs
- AL East: Blue Jays
- AL Central: Royals
- AL West: Rangers
- AL Wild Cards: Yankees, Astros
Go [Insert team playing the Dodgers here]

That would be the Mets.

Anyone else stay up for that 14-inning 5.5 hour Giants-Dodgers game?
