You can do something like telling a servant to appear before you, and they'll teleport right in front of you, a feat that, unless your servant is named Medea, and even then IIRC she's cheating in order to be able to do it, is well beyond their capabilities.

Basically, they're a plot coupon to facilitate any given thing without someone calling 'Asspull', within reason of course.

So Dracula Untold is causing me to question my choice of Servant for one of the Masters in my version of F/A. I'm either replacing Saber of Red(Mara Jade) or Saber of Black(Lucina) with him(his Master on team Red would be Kotomine Revan if I change his current Servant). The current Red Saber will be switched to be the Assassin(currently Mantis of the Guardians of the Galaxy) instead if I choose her while the current Black Saber will just be removed if she is choosen.

Will have to see the movie first before I decide. His colours already fit both Red Team and Black Team and I can't do a Fate project and NOT have a Dracula(and it would be the first Saber Dracula!).

She's a magus. Of course she cheats, it's what they do. They take advantage of the loopholes within the rules of the world to make things happen.

Technically, the loopholes she's abusing are not in the rules of Reality per se, but in the Grail War system that the Makiris, Tohsakas, and Einzberns designed. Speaking of which, doesn't Fate Apocrypha's handwave for the increased number of Servants through a never-before-mentioned "backup feature" in the Grail War system open a plot hole for Fate Stay Night? That is, why didn't Medea make use of this already-built-in feature to have more Servants under her command (or even a better Servant class than Assassin) if she can manipulate the system in ways that even its creators are implied to be incapable of either doing or conceiving of?

I can just see Medea trying the ritual seven times and getting crappy heroes for all classes, to her increasing frustration. At least, right up until she gets Pure Flonne (AKA Fallen Angel Sailor Moon) as Caster.

Or Lancer. Actually, considering his luck, I think he might qualify better for that class.

Kind of. The idea is that Medea doesn't stop at summoning a fake Assassin, but goes for a full roster of seven fake Servants.

Well the only (in-universe) fictional servant I know of in the Holy Grail Wars is Berserker from Fate/Strange Fake. As he is in Nasuverse canon not the real Jack the Riper but rather a fictionalized version of the serial killer as the real on in Nasuverse was a young girl.

However as we are going this route, I would suggest Zoro for Saber or Assassin. Because he is a classic.

I thought that Strange/Fake Jack the Ripper was the real Jack the Ripper, while the Apocrypha version was just a composite of London's orphans.

They can both be real. Imagine Strange/Fake Jack's surprise when he discovers that his true identity is a conglomerate of orphans.

On a more serious note I suggest Ezio Auditore da Firenze as Assassin. Or Altair Ibn-la'Ahad, also as an Assassin.

@rik: Pecos Bill would fit so much better as a Rider, though. I mean, c'mon. He's famed for inventing the sport of rodeo by knocking down a tornado and then riding it like a stallion against its will.

That one's already being done.

Random thought: would Spider-Man have the Monstrous Strength skill, the caveat being that if he employed it, he turned into his horrific Man-Spider mutation?

According to Type Moon wiki. Berserker from Fate/Strange Fake "... lacks a true identity, instead acting as the embodiment of the mystery behind the legend of Jack the Ripper". Whilst the Ripper from Fate/Apocrypha "... is the perpetrator of a series of gory murders in 19th Century England.[1] She grew up without ever having a home, and spent her time living in the streets."

It would be a valid potential skill although his strength stat would already be pretty impressive.

Spiderman's strength is pretty inconsistent, at times.

Then again, because of power escalation, most western comics wind up with their heroes having ludicrous levels of strength, because they have to outdo and upstage one another. There's also the fact that writers often write each other into a corner...

It's a mess.

Hell, even Batman is outrageously strong, agile and durable, for a supposedly 'normal' human.

It's a good thing that they're ineligible due to the fact that humanity can no longer produce Heroic Spirits, huh?

"But what if they could?" and "Alternate history is weird" are pretty much the cornerstones of my project. Pretty much the only "historical" heroes that show up are Saint George, Prince Vlad Tepes, Heracles and his friends, Sir Galahad, Genghis Khan, Julia Caesar and Joshua bar Joseph(Jesus).

That last one might just be a mistake.

Well yes but Spiderman's strength has been consistently beyond the bounds of a non-powered human while Batman relies on Charles Atlas Superpower.

Yeah I'd advise against that as well. I mean without getting into it too much that could be pretty offensive. Especially when said figure is straight up used as a Servant rather than merely referenced as existing or involved in things.
