I was planning to start with the manga, but maybe I'll watch the anime first instead. How is the manga, anyway?

Hmm, surprisingly a lot like the anime. The adaption was well done.
I do have some things to say about the characters, but I do not want to spoil it.

Yes it is great work though, I am not sure if it is even posible call fantasy. Only weakness of manga is long time between chapters

There's a new chapter now, but for those that have only saw the anime (or worse, the movies), they will have to read back on like 30 chapters to catch up.

Just saw some episodes a little while ago on the Top Picks Section on my on demand channels. This is a very unique Humongous Mecha / Fantasy show. My mind was blown.
