Agreed, but I'm having a hard time finding a replacement.
I remember a big long thread from months ago that pretty much came to that conclusion.
Jet-a-Reeno!How does a blatantly silly and badly drawn battle plan not demonstrate military incompetence?

Keep until an improvement is suggested?
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Seconding Keep Until Better Image Suggested. Zapp works just fine.
Anyone else?
In the old thread, I suggested a version of a pic that gave a closer view of Zap and his ludicrous battle-chart, cutting out Kif (green dude on the right). I stand by that suggestion. Otherwise, I can't think of any improvements.
I reject your requirement for a witty statement or fanboyish squealing in my signature. The bigger issue in that image is that it doesn't necessarily look like a plan destined to fail. Clogging the cannons up with wreckage is not by default a failing strategy.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanKilling vast numbers of your own troops sounds pretty stupid to me.
I thought we frowned on pics that depend on captions to show why they're an example?
Which it doesn't. You're saying that this:
...doesn't look like an obviously stupid and badly drawn strategem?

All I see is a bunch of triangles (which I assume represent space ships) being directed towards what looks like a planet while the stick figures either shoot at it or move towards it. It's pretty unclear and nothing strikes me as particularly idiotic about it.
I do, however, question the general's lack of pants.

What is this "sleep" you speak of?I disagree. * The stick figures and "boom" convey unprofessionalism to me just fine.
The trope is about efficiency, not about unprofessionalism. Ans there are a lot of real-world tactics that rely on sacrificing a lot of soldiers for a given result - see Zerg Rush.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThen Keep Until Better Image Suggested. It's better than nothing.

Clock is set.
Clock's up; locking for inactivity/lack of consensus. No action is to be taken based on this thread.
EDIT: I'm adding this link and the previous one to the page tag with a note that someone needs to have a great suggestion before making a new thread.

The pic doesn't show Zapp being a failure at all
