Anybody here read Magi?

I was introduced to this manga by a friend of mine, and despite thinking it was a Shoujo manga at the start it's actually a Shounen, and it's pretty good!

I like the aesthetics of the world, especially how the Fantasy Counterpart Cultures are designed, as well as the fight scenes. The story could develop a little bit quicker, though.

I'm more interested in how long Alibaba remains a vegetable, and who's going to be seriously pissed at what Hakuryuu did.

I really don't think Judal is coming back. He is being constantly pushed outside atmosphere, there is just no outs for this.

better question...anyone think Gyokuen is really gone for good?

I hope not, but I must be thinking this just because I really like her.

Unless it's as a Ruhk ghost, I'm thinking it's unlikely. Didn't she blow herself up after she got decapitated?

Gyokuen was fun, but the series is probably better off without her. Like, with her gone, we've officially shed the weird and terrible 'good guys vs. cartoonish evil' morality the series started with, and have fully committed to the 'people do bad things because of complicated reasons, and no matter how bad they seem, their actions are always logical and justified from their point of view' one the series grew into.

Which, I suppose, if another reason why Judal should stay gone. He'd gotten a bit of development, but he wasn't really about to stray from his For the Evulz schtick.

That's not a bad thing sometimes cartoon evil works and in Gyokuen's case it does.

We don't have a certain proof of her demise so most likely Arba will be back.

It's not that's something that never works, or even that it didn't in her case, but that the biggest strength of this series is the exact opposite of that.

Like, the stuff we're getting now about Aladdin realizing the end of world isn't going to happen, and therefore his moral certainty no longer has a basis? Good stuff. But Gyokuen coming back would kill that.

I don't think Gyokuen is gone.

I never said anything about Gyokuen hell from the reaction before her death it could foreshadowing that she was a good parent and Arba is the real villain.

This is shounen villains came before from death even when it seems like they should be dead :P Also where is Morgiana damn it!

Dang didn't realize people were using this thread.

From what I understand of the Isolation barrier, it would prevent Gyokuren and her lackies from even doing the typically black rukh process of abandoning their bodies, since it nullifies all magic in shape and form. It's also an old world magic and even required one of those staffs. So Arba should be effectively dead.

Anyways Judar not only gets out of his predicament, but gets saved from a monster by pill shaped Alibaba in the raws for the latest chapter.

Or maybe they'll wander alien world for rest of their existence xD Who knows

To be fair Hakuryuu has made it a point of this being his only option if something happened to Judar and the way he's treating it seems like its a Deal with the Devil. I mean look at who Yamato sent to act as an envoy and she acted sinister and shifty from the get go. Even knowing it's a fashion style in Japan did not make her black teeth any less creepy.

Also I realized later Alibaba became a Cactaur.

Who knows. They might even join the battle after both sides have exhausted themselves and take both out.

Some more chapters are out. Cactuar Alibaba and Judar meet up with Mother Dragon.

Raws for the next chapter reveal that David personally took control of Il Illah and that he's using someone as an Avatar that has fallen after the summit where they revealed the history of Alma Toran.

Meaning My Death Is Just the Beginning and that Arba was too stupid to realize her God had already been usurped.
